Completely Pucked by MJ Booth and Anna Sparrow (Daddies of the League)

Completely Pucked follows a single dad and the Daddy who wants to be part of their lives.

From the blurb:

Daddies of the League is a college ice hockey shared world, where you’ll find Daddies both on and off the ice. Skate into your newest obsession and grab them all.

JUSTIN
Justin never planned to be a dad. He certainly never planned to be a single dad. After five years of living on the East coast, surrounded by memories of Owen’s mother, Justin decides to pack up their whole life and drive across the country to start fresh. Well, kind of fresh. Phoenix, Arizona is where Owen’s maternal grandparents live and Justin figures it’s about time for them to meet in person. It doesn’t hurt that he’s landed a sweet job with the only college hockey team in the city.

GABE
Gabe’s last year of college starts out unexpectedly, but in the best of ways. He meets a hot single dad and his adorable son, invites himself over to help, and discovers that Justin has a Little side just beneath the surface all in the span of a week. Being Justin's Daddy comes naturally, but he honestly wasn't looking for a serious relationship. Not with everything else he is balancing, including maintaining his performance on the ice and keeping up his grades.

When Justin and Gabe realize they’ll be seeing a lot of each other, it’s a bit of work to keep things professional (janitor’s closets aside). Justin escapes into his Little side to cope with the stress of being a single parent, while Gabe struggles with his own demons.

However, when Justin’s parenting skills come into question, and with Gabe uncertain about his future on or off the ice, will it be too much pressure on their relationship?

Heather's Review:

I really liked these characters together!  Justin was adorable and Gabe was just what that little family needed...

Overall, the story had lots of high points.  I just wish there were a few less gaps in the timeline - I wanted to see the aftercare, the reflection and the little things that happen between the big ones.  The timeline was linear (which I truly appreciate) but sometimes there was a week or two between chapters, and I craved more nuance.

I look forward to reading more from the Daddies in the League!
