Brim Over Boot (The Darling Brothers Book 2) by Emmy Sanders

Noah and Colton run into each other all the time. This would be good if they got along but they don't. Colton is almost insane in his dislike for Noah until Noah changes that.

From the Brim Over Boot blurb:

He may be a King, but I’ll never kneel.

Colton
If asked to list all the folks in Darling, Montana I can’t stand, I’d have a single name.

Noah King.

He’s the second-best farrier in town (me being the first). A royal pain in my behind. And an all-around smug pest I wouldn’t mind knocking down a peg or two.

It’s no surprise after so many years, our animosity has come to a head. I just never in my wildest, hate-fueled fantasies expected Noah’s attack to involve his lips on mine.

It was a mistake, no question. But apparently I still have some things to figure out about myself.

One thing I do know? Noah King and I have been bitter rivals from the start. And nothing, not even the fire he lights under my skin, makes a lick of difference in the end.

Surrendering to my enemy isn’t an option.

Brim Over Boot is a small town, enemies-to-lovers romance between rival farriers, with a double bi-awakening, tension and banter galore, scorching encounters, a slow fall from hate to love, and one very HEA. It’s book 2 in The Darling Brothers series but can be read as a standalone.

Reed Kaye's review:

This is an enemies to lovers story. Boy does it deliver on the fun. Colton is obsessed with hating Noah. He comes up with the most insane reasons to hate on Noah. I love his self-talk. There is nothing Noah can do right in Colton’s eyes even when Colton is the one doing wrong.

Noah is more the laid back calm guy who enjoys his interactions with little Colt. Noah’s ability to get under Colton’s skin is such entertainment.

Until something happens that changes the way they interact. This one second in time changes everything between these two.

I really hated for this story to end. It gave me a few lol’s and many heartwarming moments. I loved how everyone around Colton saw through his behaviors. This story is just so full of fun. The only downside is now I have to wait for the next in the series.

Heather's Review:

Rivals to lovers!  Two men in the same profession, old hurts and new rivalries with a past connection only one knows about... in a small town that watches with interest as both the sparks and the snark flies!

Once these two start to figure things out, the heat level rises and the past bubbles to the surface too!  Sexual awakening, actual communication and a chance to bring their rivalry to a happy ending... this book was a great read from cover to cover and it left me with a book hangover from not wanting it to end.

I'm so glad we'll get to see these two in the rest of the series and I can't wait to see what's next!
