High heat between captives, where the possessiveness and instant chemistry are off the charts. After claiming Lucas, Roman knows they must escape in order to survive, and protecting Lucas is the only thing that matters.
From the Possession blurb:
I’m a beast pacing around my cage waiting for the next fight. It’s all I have, those brief moments of rage and destruction. It’s a sort of freedom. Then I go back into the cold, dark emptiness.
That’s why I don’t speak anymore. What’s the point? I stopped being human a long time ago. I’ve given up on anything but that cycle of violence and isolation—until they throw him into my cage. They expect me to kill him as soon as he gets me through my injuries. That’s what I usually do. People thrown in with me make so much noise with their begging that I have to kill them to shut them up. But Lucas is different. He’s quiet. Lost. He intrigues me.
So I don’t kill him. I claim him instead.
At first, my handlers are happy. They think he makes it easier to manage me. Control the beast by controlling its possession. Beasts are simple like that.
What they don’t realize is that he’s waking up the man I used to be—and that man is a hell of a lot more dangerous than the beast.

SNik's review:
First in series (Constantine Brothers). Forced proximity. Hurt/comfort. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
The only thing they have in common is being sold into captivity. Roman, known only as Beast, has been forced to fight for survival for years, and Lucas is imprisoned with him. However, their dynamic quickly changes from unwanted cellmates to a dark codependency where Roman becomes possessive and protective, while Lucas thrives on being wanted and experiences a fierce attraction for the first time in his life.
There is a lot happening in this story between Lucas and Roman, the well written descriptions of how Roman has had to cope with his captivity and his understandable reactions, and the strong connection they establish in communicating needs, anger, fear without words was compelling. There is plenty of spice and steam, and I appreciated that returning to a new normal was addressed in a realistic way for Roman and that Lucas had the strength to push boundaries when needed. A really entertaining read, sign me up for the next book in the series.
