Destruction, the first book in the Crimson Bonds series by Abrianna Denae & Leigh Kenzie, is the first of a wild ride meshing these two series together. A co-write the exceeds a reader's expectations, this book will have you dying for the next installment.
From the blurb:
Allies.
When Mafia Bosses Allesandro Martelli and Cristian Amato are kidnapped, their fledgling alliance is put to test as the once rivals are forced to rely on each other for survival.
Friends.
With the Bosses gone, Roman Amato and Emilio Martelli step up to lead their respective Families. They’ve both trained extensively for such a task, but reality is always worse. Forced to work together and trust each other as leaders and allies, rather than just friends, they quickly learn that 'Boss' is more than a title and position, it's a sacrifice.
Rivals.
The two Mafia Families were never meant to work so closely together, but in order to survive, the Martellis and Amatos need to go against everything they’ve ever been taught.
Without knowing who to trust, both the Bosses and the Families must rely on cooperation to make it through to the end… If they don’t become their own worst enemies first.
Destruction is book 1 in the Crimson Bonds series and ends on a cliffhanger. All books in this series must be read in order. This is a dark MM and MMM+ story with various pairings and relationships. Please see inside for the full list of TWs.
This is an Amato Family (All's Fair Series by Abrianna Denae) and Martelli Family (Vendetta series by Leigh Kenzie) crossover. This is not a standalone story. At least one of the series, Vendetta or All’s Fair, needs to be read first to truly understand the dynamics of this story.
Molly Otto's review:
When two writers combine two worlds, you never know what you're gonna get. With both families having such dynamic personalities, it's no wonder these two families combine seamlessly. These characters from the getgo have a chemistry so strong it's hard to put into words how mesmerizing it truly is. Then, better yet, you have to struggle telling who writes which chapter, when you can see both authors truly understand the others characters.
What starts to be a promising universe you can't help but question will all the men we have grown to love through these authors work survive? The emotions are on a haywire to who will end up where when all the cards are laid out. Was amazing to see the characters step up from their respective figure heads MIA. Truly cannot wait to see what comes next for all these men.
GaleM's review:
This is simply brilliant, glittering darkness, pure reading delight incarnate! Yes, it's Destruction on a mind bending level because the intensity, the spice, the new twists are incredibly well crafted and the characters from both series very skilfully blended. The story starts with powerful rush of adrenaline, setting a fast, intense narrative. Hard times have befallen the Amato and the Martelli families, testing the bonds of their love, loyalty, strength and survival skills. The question is will they emerge stronger than ever or crack under the pressure. I loved the plot line and unexpected new connections as well as seeing Roman step up in his new role as a lead of the Amatos. The shift in the personal dynamics and the way new temptations, revelations and feelings reflected in the everyday life of both families, was another real thrill to read. The cliffhanger at the end was a little bit anticlimactic, after the high adrenaline from the reading, but I am already hooked and waiting the continuation of this unhinged madness, doubled in size.
Destruction is currently available as an e-book and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
