André gets a sort of second chance with the guy he had a crush on years ago. While Luke is the best man and responsible for the wedding cake he wasn't quite ready to revisit his long ago attraction to boyband acquaintance André. But snow falls and sparks fly for this special duo.
From the Ice & Sweet blurb:
Falling for my crush at my ex’s Christmas wedding? Piece of cake!
Making the cake for my ex-fake boyfriend turned best friend’s wedding the week before Christmas was easy. Carting it halfway across England in the snow was not. Especially not when a blown-out back tyre leads to me coming face to face with my long term crush for the first time in five years.
I’ve known André since his days of boyband superstardom, but since I was supposed to be dating one of his bandmates, I was never able to act on my feelings. But now we’re both single and stuck in a hotel for the weekend with our interfering friends who seem determined to push us together.
But maybe André and I don’t need a push. Maybe all we need is a chance to see if the spark we felt all those years ago is still there.
After all, it is Christmas. And that means anything could happen.
SNik's review:
Standalone holiday story. Dual POV.
Former child actor and now baker to the stars, Luke is the designated best man and cake decorator for his former fake boyfriend/best friend’s wedding. At his former boy band member’s wedding, André hopes to see Luke again, they knew each other years ago but maybe André will have a chance to woo his long ago crush during a fabulous snowy wedding weekend.
André and Luke are both likable characters, dedicated to their current careers, but more than willing to try and kindle something pretty special. The super steamy times they have together during the wedding festivities continue as they spend the holidays together and find that the attraction they once had and currently feel has blossomed into stronger emotions quickly. Honest conversations, swoony declarations, and an easy relationship grows. This is a sweet whirlwind of a romance with two committed guys that aren’t going to let the love of their life get away.
Molly Otto's review:
A beautiful and sweet low angst holiday read from Charlie. Luke and Andre have always been in each other's orbits, harboring crushes on the other yet never were at the right place and time until their mutual friend Kane's wedding. When they run into each other on the way to the even both quickly realize those old feelings are still there strong as ever and give each other the chance they deserve. These two are so undeniably adorable for one another and help each other in finding that balance between jobs they love and a life outside of them as well. A great balance of sweetness and heat for an enjoyable time from start to finish. Was a pleasure to see our old friends once again to see they are happy and prospering with their lives post their stories.
