A cute romance and a brilliant narration
From the All That Matters blurb:
Nico Andretti knows one thing is true: Love is for fools.
Being a tour bus guide in Times Square isn’t his dream job and he yearns for more than living in his mother’s basement apartment, but life is tough in the big city.
At least the men on the bus are eye-candy galore, and they’re one and done. Why bother with seconds when you’ll only get hurt? And Nico knows hurt—he’s got a father he’s never met and an ex who broke his heart and shattered his self-esteem.
Then Dr. Ford St. Claire takes his tour, and Nico enjoys his own personal sightseeing of the gorgeous older man. In a twist of fate they meet again that evening and share drinks, confidences, and a night of flirting. Now Ford is gone for good. Home to Florida.
Until he shows up the next month.
And the next…It’s just a fling.
Right?
But the more time they spend together, the more Nico realizes being broke doesn't matter. Nor does the distance between them. What matters is how Ford makes him feel—loved, appreciated, and respected. And Nico is determined to give Ford the one thing his cheating ex couldn't—a loving family.
When secrets and scandals threaten them both, their love is put to the test. Maybe they’ll crash and burn…but Nico doesn’t think so.
All that matters is finding their forever. And doing it together.
Lesetiger's review:
As always, the author's writing style is wonderful and it only took me a short time to find myself in the middle of the story.
Nico is a fun-loving man who works two jobs. He is also very close to his family. On a tour that he leads as a tour bus guide in Times Square, he meets Ford.
And as luck would have it, they meet again in the evening - the beginning of a friendship.
Ford is a doctor and has nothing of what Nico has. And he lives in faraway Florida. What they have in common is that they both work hard and both need to work on their self-esteem, as there have been unpleasant events in the past.
The distance doesn't play a major role, as Ford makes frequent trips to New York. And he books a bus tour with Nico every time.
The chemistry between the two is undeniably there and I loved how the two grew closer. They are pretty cute together. The story is romantic and has no unnecessary drama, which I found very positive.
Still, Ford has issues with his ex, with whom he also shares a doctor's office. Nico, on the other hand, learns things about his background and he has to figure out how to deal with it.
I loved how the two of them were there for each other and it was a pleasure to accompany them on their journey through life.
This was also due to Kale Williams, who once again performed an absolutely brilliant reading. He gave both characters suitable voices, narrated in an entertaining way and captured the emotions well. I also love his pleasant voice. The audiobook is highly recommended! Felice Stevens and Kale Williams is a combination I can't resist and you absolutely can't go wrong with.
All That Matters is currently available as an audiobook, e-book and paperback
