We are back to small town Collier's Creek just in time for the holidays. Tastes Like Sugar is an age gap co-workers low angst romance.
From the blurb:
Nothing like sugar kisses to bring people together for the holidays…
After ditching the chaos of city life—and a cheating fiancé—I’m more than ready for a fresh start. Collier’s Creek, with its small-town charm and the warmth of my family, seems like the perfect place to regroup. Throw in a job offer as the new office manager for the local fire department, and it feels like everything is falling into place.
That is, until I meet Hayes.
The confident, cocky, and sinfully sexy firefighter is all smooth moves and effortless charm. Our connection? Instant. Our chemistry? Scorching. But here’s the problem: I’m supposed to be wrangling the firefighters and keeping the department in line, not getting distracted by the hottest man in town—who also happens to be my nephew’s best friend.
As the fire department’s Mr. December, Hayes is used to turning heads, but he’s got his sights set on me. And while I’ve sworn off mixing business with pleasure, this guy makes resisting nearly impossible. Every sweet gesture and playful flirtation chips away at my resolve, leaving me wondering if this time around, I should just give in.
Because the more time I spend with Hayes, the more I realize he’s not just fire and heat—he’s all heart. But with our undeniable attraction and my unease of our familial connection as well as our age gap, can we handle the sparks flying between us without getting burned?
Celebrate the holidays with the men of Collier’s Creek, where magic fills the air and irresistible romances are the highlight of the festive season. Six low-angst romances, each filled with heartwarming moments and swoon-worthy romance.
Molly Otto's review:
A fun sweet take on an age gap co workers romance. When Sully moves to Colliers Creek to start over, he doesn't expect to find Hayes. Hayes is an adorable himbo who owns you immediately and just has you smiling the whole time. With their first hook up, they don't know who the other is, and yeah, let's just say they find out in the best, most awkward way possible. The two try to deny the chemistry, yet they are so right for each other that the inevitably is shown from every interaction. The cast of characters are all loveable, and you see their love for their small gossipy town and all of its residents. A good balance of heat and sweetness, a well-balanced holiday read.
What I enjoyed most about this book is that there's no over-the-top angst or dramatics. It's simply two guys who make a very intense connection and when they cross paths again...swoon.... well, it was funny actually !!! And then there was swoon !!! Hayes may seem like a golden retriever but this guy has emotional depth and understanding. He allows Sully/Tom to take his time with their relationship ...but doesn't hide his want and attraction. Sully/Tom is very skittish and it's not just the age factor...but everything else as well. This is a very good story - romantic, funny (lotta laugh out loud moments !!), sweet and steamy and all in a small town with family/found family vibes. Loved it !!
Heather's Review:
A one night stand has a chance to become more, even if Sully runs away in the morning... this is a sweet and steamy co-workers to lovers story that starts as a hook-up and ends with a holiday HEA. I love that this story embraces just how interconnected a town like Collier's Creek is and how embracing the small town sometimes comes with unexpected connections - like being your nephew's childhood bestie.
If you're looking for an age gap, small town romance with a good dose of heat, lots of heart and a magical holiday HEA, then pick up Tastes Like Sugar
