The Prez (Devil's Mayhem MC Book 3) by RS McKenzie

Can the president of a MC and a Manny find love together? Or are their worlds too different?

From the blurb:

ℝ𝕒𝕗𝕒𝕖𝕝

As the president of the Devil’s Mayhem MC, I make the hard decisions so my men don’t have to. They’re my family, but I have to keep myself separate from them. After I failed my own family, I can’t risk failing them too.

A visit from the sheriff changes everything. Suddenly I find myself raising my estranged sister’s six month old son and completely out of my depth. I desperately need help, and that comes in the form of Omari, who quickly becomes more than a manny to me.

Things aren’t going so well for me. I lose my office job and end up having to crash at my best friend’s house. But that ends after a horrible incident involving my best friends boyfriend trying to proposition me. Answering a help wanted ad for a nanny position to get on my feet was not ideal, especially when the man that needs the help is the scary president of the motorcycle club I had a run in with a few months back. But the pay is good, and I can’t possibly leave this sweet baby alone with his uncle, who has little regard for him. Raf is hardly home anyway, so we’ll just stay out of each other’s way.

But Raf isn’t the scary biker I assumed he was. I want to peel back his prickly layers to get to the soft middle I only catch glimpses of. But would someone that looks like him be interested in a chubby guy like me?

Angel's review:

Omari and Rafael's story wasn't one I expected. They are from two different worlds but fit together in a way that's just right for them both.

Rafael got sole custody of his nephew after his sister and her husband passed away, but he has no idea what to do with a baby. Everyone he has ever loved has gotten hurt, so how can he care for a baby? That's where Omari comes in.

Omari needs a job and money, when he sees a job listing asking for a live in nanny he knows that's the perfect job for him. He wasn't expecting his new boss to be the man who confronted him in the club. Overtime Omari gets to know Rafael on a more personal level and sees that not everything is as it seems.

I thought this story was good. These two men are very different from one another but they are what each other needs. Omari gives his love and care freely, whereas Rafael keeps how he feels close to his chest, and shows he cares in different ways. I liked the slow burn that occured between the two MC's, there was a lot of tension between Omari and Rafael at first but overtime they got to know each other and that tension faded.

Omari with little Raf was adorable, and what was even cuter was when Omari got Rafael involved with little Raf's care. It was so cute reading about the big bad president of his MC figuring out how to care for a little baby. The found family they formed was adorable, and the other members of the MC helped fully cement that found family aspect. I thought the writing was good, the story flowed nicely, and the characters had great dialogue.

I despised both Brock and Kit, they were so cruel and mean to Omari. I know Kit had a lot going on but that's no excuse for him to become so nasty towards his 'best friend'. (Minor Spoiler: I'm glad Kit was able to start getting help, and that he got away from Brock.)

All in all, a good story full of unconventional found family goodness.
