My Dirty Witch (Horns, Hexes and Heathens) by RM Neill

What would you do if something you strongly believed in ended up being real, like magic? Would you freak out of be elated?

From the My Dirty Witch blurb:

I suck at magic.

That’s normally not a bad thing, but when you’re a witch?

Honestly, having been banished to earth and in the company of humans isn’t that bad. I mean, I have a home, friends, and even a few hobbies, but that doesn’t stop me from being plagued with nightmares or make breaking the curse feel any less impossible.

And while it feels like spending my life alone is inevitable, I crave the physical touch of a lover. The itch to find my heart’s mate is back and louder than ever.

When your best friend’s dad is your wingman—and a demon—it’s all kinds of awkward meeting the love of your life.
But here we are.

The adorable and eccentric owner of the magic store believes in witches and is into the same kink I am. I want to say that it’s fate, or meant to be, but when nothing in my life has ever been easy, I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Is my love life finally going to evolve from spying on my roommates or am I destined to remain a virgin for eternity?

While this book can be read as a standalone, you may enjoy it more if read book one in the series first.

Rogue's review:

- Paranormal
- Insta-love
- Mild kink

This is set in the same universe as My Saintly Demon, and can be read as a standalone although better as part of the duet, as there is a lot of crossover with characters. We did meet X in Demon, but get to know him a lot better here, and find out his story - which is quite tragic when it's all revealed. Estranged from his family and cast out from his witch clan with a horrific curse on him, X finds Clark in the oddest place, and I loved their connection. It's pretty instant for them both but while insta-love can be hit or miss for me, here it worked for these two. I loved these two together, it's a sweet, slightly kinky story with a great cast of supporting characters too.

I loved getting to know Clark and X and seeing them come together and find their HEA, and break X's curse. This was short, sweet, hot and yeah, a little kinky. I loved it.

Angel's review:

X is a witch who loves baking and who is also cursed. In order to break his curse he needs to find the love of his life, and that person needs to accept him completely. That's where Clark comes in.

Clark believes in magic so strongly he opened up a magic shop. His magic shop has spell books, crystals, potions, and high quality ingredients to create a quality spell. He may not be a witch himself but he certainly believes in all things magic. When he meets X he wasn't prepared for what happens next.

These two men are adorable! I loved the way these two just fit together like two peas in a pod. Their relationship was fully of sweetness, and plenty of spice as well for those that are wondering.

There was a bit of angst regarding X's despicable brother, but that got resolved pretty quickly, and was written well. I liked the flow of the story and how all the characters interacted with each other. Insta-lust and insta-love isn't my personal favorite, but I feel as though it fit well within the realm of this story. It made sense here.

Overall a great story about two magic loving men finding love together, and breaking a curse!

@thera_loves_to_read review:

Amazing story with great characters. I couldn't put it down.

I loved X in the first book and couldn't wait for his book. This story did not disappoint.

I loved the insta attraction/lust/love. It felt right for them. The reasons Clark named his shop and everything that X went through. It was serendipitous. I really loved their story a lot.

Cannot wait to read Faustus' story.
