The Flirty Neighbor (Corio Heights Book 2) by Rye Cox; Narrated by Zachary Zaba

The Flirty Neighbor is book 2 of the Curio Heights series from Rye Cox. We have a low angst opposites attract bi awakening story.

From the blurb:

What do you do with a connection you can't explain?

Ian had been burned more than once by his past relationships. After being seen as an extension of his family and not for himself, he swears off serious and dons his flirty shield to protect his heart. But as he develops a friendship with Scott, he wonders if more is possible.

Scott dealt with bullying for most of his life, leading to his lack of confidence. Now in his 30s, he struggles with his weight and image issues, but is ready to overcome the insecurities that have been drilled into him. However, he didn't expect his personal trainer to change his life in more ways than one.

The Flirty Neighbor is a bisexual awakening M/M romance with low-angst, eccentric family members, lots of flower references, and HEA guaranteed. It is the second book of the Corio Heights series and can be listened to as a stand-alone, but will be more enjoyable as a series.

Molly Otto's review:

Zachary Zaba does well once again in making these characters more real and each having their own voices, he keeps you engaged from start to finish. I'm glad to see that they paired up for this whole series. Zachary is becoming one of my goto narrators. Thanks a lot to this series, along with Black Cat Circus (where Rye also has a book included) where he just makes the books more.

Book 2 of the Curio Heights series has our previous couples' friends finding balance with each other. Ian grew up in a life of privilege that he doesn't let many know about he just wants to be happy doing a job, and the full fills him. Scott, on the other hand, did not carry the burdens of others' expectations in what he should look like. The unlikely pair have an instant chemistry that works so well, yet the real world seems to get in their way. The two need to learn to trust in their relationship that it's okay to be nervous sometimes, but communication is key. Adore that they help the other stick up for themselves to make their family life better when it could've been solved with just voicing these opinions.
