Unusually, we have a double review for The Convenient Groom, one for both the audio version and the novella.
From the blurb:
What should you do when the one who got away walks into your bar twelve years later?
The last time I saw Jax, I was dating his sister and figuring myself out.
Nowadays, I'm Mr. Flirty, but hookups are for people who don't run their own business.
Jax and I fall back into our easy friendship, but the covert looks and the flirting make me want more. And I think he does too.
One night in Vegas changes everything, and we can't even blame the alcohol because I remember every single second of the night.
They say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But what happens when it chases you home?
The Convenient Groom is a stand-alone novella set in Ana Ashley’s new Spencer Brothers world. Expect lots of chemistry from two guys who have been in love forever, geeky bonding over a 90's toy and the biggest game of poker face in the history of romance.
Jacquie's Review:
Novella review:
The Convenient Groom was a quick, spicy read set in the Spender Brothers series. I would recommend reading the first 2 before reading this for background on the setup of the area and characters.
Tanner owns a bar, which Noah frequents. Noah is Jax's friend, they live in the same apartment block and Noah takes him to the bar.
It has an almost second chance feel to it since they missed their first chance when they were younger. The way they ended up getting married was pretty funny and there's some drama with Jodie, Jax's sister.
I loved it mainly for the spice and the connection they shared. These guys were fire but also so loving.
Their HEA was lovely.
My review for the audio:
All the rest above still stands. I actually found the book spicier in audio format and Alexander Cendese does a great job not only with the multiple sexy scenes, but also the sweeter stuff. I always enjoy his narration and it pairs nicely with Ana's writing. A quick listen but very entertaining. Thank you for the copy, Ana.
Heather's Review:
Ana Ashley brings us a short, sweet and spicy read set in the Spencer Brother's unverse and it was a delicious way to spend an afternoon! I love the friends to lovers vibe and the long time crush! I also appreciate the little bit of tension that having dated Jax's sister causes for Tanner and Jax... This novella works well at this length and while I always love more story, this one has a satisfying wrap up.
