Wreaking Havoc (Demon Bound Book 1) by Grae Bryan

Wreaking Havoc is a great introduction to a new paranormal series by Grae Bryan. Expect lots of the possessive vibes which Bryan is known for, an intriguing cast of demons, and plenty of steamy fun times!

From the blurb:

Sascha has always felt powerless, the weak baby of a cruel family. But that’s fine.
He has his looks, his ample allowance, and a smattering of one-night stands to keep him busy. But when Sascha’s oldest brother offends the wrong people, Sascha finds himself in hiding with a target on his back. And when poking around in his temporary home leads to accidentally summoning the hottest demon Sascha could ever imagine, he has to ask himself: does he want to feel powerless anymore?

Kai has been waiting centuries for a summons. When he’s at long last brought to the human realm for his final contract, he expects to find another warrior hungry for battle and bloodshed. Instead, he finds himself bound to a saucy, scared mobster princeling who can’t stop looking at Kai like he’s dinner. It isn’t long before Kai decides that—for once—he wouldn’t mind staying exactly where he is, with a certain human for his mate.

But Sascha isn’t used to anyone sticking around, let alone caring for him in any real way. It’s up to Kai to convince Sascha he can give him so much more than protection. He just has to deal with those pesky enemies—and Sascha’s own meddling family—first.

WREAKING HAVOC IS A HEATED MM PARANORMAL ROMANCE WITH A HEA AND NO CLIFFHANGER. IT CONTAINS A SPOILED (OR IS IT TRAUMATIZED?) MAFIA PRINCE WITH TRUST ISSUES, THE COCKY WARRIOR DEMON WHO WANTS NOTHING MORE THAN TO PAMPER HIM FOR ETERNITY, A STIFLING FAMILY, ELUSIVE ENEMIES, AND THE FRUSTRATION OF NEVER GETTING TO FINISH A MANICURE.

Jacqueleen The Reading Queen's Review:

"You think I'm pretty?"

"I think you're lovely."

Um YES give me more of this series ASAP! As an avid fan of Grae Bryan's vampire series I was really excited when they mentioned they were venturing into DEMONS! What I didn't realize, silly me, was that the human MC in this book was Sacha AKA the baby brother of Alexei from Johann. That was a pleasant and welcome surprise!

Sacha was such a little spit fire. Being the "pampered" little brother of a Mafia Don has its perks, but it is also incredibly lonely. I mean, how do meet friends? Date? Nobody could ever meet your family and even if they could who would want to introduce them to someone like Ivan anyways. That's not even getting into how Ivan demanded Sacha dress completely opposite to what his personality wanted. Honestly, I'm with Alexei on this one. Ivan is a dick of the highest order.

Kai was amazing. He recognized what a gem of a human Sacha was and became determined to make him his. He did so in the best way too, by showing Sacha how cherished and cared for he'd be if he accepted Kai as his demon mate. I don't know how Sacha held out for as long as he did with how lovely Kai was. They were just so good together!

Now I'm super interested in the remainder of the Demons left in the void, particularly Nightmare. I'm pretty positive on Bryan's plans for him and I cannot freaking wait! But first, we have Ivan. Ivan, who appears to have ended up with a lot more than he bargained for and I hope his demon gives him a damn good run for his money. We all know Grae can spin a redemption arc with the best of them and I'm interested to see how everything plays out next!

SNiK's Review:

First in series (Demon Bound). Paranormal. Close proximity. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

For his protection from his mafia family’s enemies Sascha is hidden away in Maine, and while idly painting his nails he certainly doesn’t intend on summoning a huge gorgeous warrior demon. Once Kai strikes a bargain with the beautiful Sascha he finds that protection and vengeance is not the only thing on his mind, because for some reason Sascha’s soul calls to Kai, and maybe he can convince Sascha that they are meant to be together forever.

I really enjoyed the dynamic of Kai being a cinnamon roll demon that is fully committed to Sascha almost immediately, and the sassy but vulnerable Sascha that has to trust Kai with his heart. Everything happens pretty quickly so I do wish there was a little more relationship development between them but every scene with them was so entertaining especially the steamy scenes. There is some heartfelt dialogue and honesty which was swoony, with cameos, some possessive protective scenes, and of course a demon and a human finding their special mate.
