Two Thousand Dreams Kings of Chaos, Book 1 By: Jocelynn Drake Narrated by: Kevin Shen

Set in the same world as the Lords of Discord, Two Thousand Dreams is the first book in the Kings of Chaos series, with some familiar faces making cameos and a witch from the Princes of Mayhem series taking center stage.

From the blurb:

The blood witch has changed everything.

Chen traveled to the US with his clan, hoping to rescue his kidnapped brother from the fae. They just need a witch to find the exact location of where the door between the human world and the fae world will open—the one thing Moon can't do. Chen grabbed the wrong type of witch.

That's not stopping Moon from clinging to Chen as he guides them through new territory, introducing them to the witches, shifters, and vampires who can help them. The longer Moon remains at Chen's side, the more he hopes the witch might consider staying with him always.

Except that the king of the fae might have other deadly plans for Chen.

Two Thousand Dreams is the first novel in the Kings of Chaos series, which is a spin-off from the Lords of Discord series. This book contains one very grumpy vampire falling in love with a very perky blood witch, shifters, overprotective witches, other non-human surprises, snark, angst, found family, brotherly bickering, magic, chaos, vampire cuddles, and an endless love that grows stronger with each kiss.

Jacquie's Review:

I waited for the audio of this and I'm glad I did for the pronunciation alone! The narration was perfect for the book. I hadn't listened to this narrator before and would listen to more. Drake clearly did her homework! I also really appreciated the footnotes were added into the narration so listeners don't miss out on clarification of the terms used.

The story was enjoyable. I just know this is going to be a great series! I've been looking forward to the witches in Skye's little coven getting their story and, of course, wanted more of the Variks who make some appearances here.

Moon was just so much fun! His backstory was a little tragic, but he didn't let that get him down. When he meets Chen, he just decides he's going to make him smile if it's the last thing he does. Seeing him quickly decide to bed the vampire instead was fun.

Chen was initially resistant to Moon's charms, but when he fell, he did it hard. The vampire also had a sad backstory, making him cold and kinda grumpy, perfect when you know his power! However, Moon opened him up. I feel like they made each other better.

Lots of possessiveness and magic, along with a big new threat, was one way to start a series!
