Witch Boyfriend Wanted (Love & Magic Book 4) by Colette Rivera

Witch Boyfriend Wanted is a sweet, low angst, and magical take on the fake boyfriend trope.
From the blurb:

When you need a Witchy boyfriend but not a real one.

Luca Belmonte is sick of being set up. All his father wants is for him to marry well and progress his standing in Witch society. Luca wants to be left alone. He’s overwhelmed with work and needs a plan to get his father off his back. A fake relationship should do the trick. He just needs to find someone to play along.

If only his friend Marci wasn’t convinced he should go on one last date… For real.

Theo Landon is in a rut. It’s the only reason he takes a chance on a blind date. The man he meets is hot. Charming. Someone from his past he never wants to see again. The night is an epic disaster. But Theo has a secret. He’s been lying to almost everyone about being in a steady relationship, and when he gets spotted with Luca assumptions get out of hand.

So the two agree to fake it, just for a while.

Only Luca isn’t as bad as Theo thought. He’s just the Witch Theo needs, especially when things start to go wrong at his apothecary shop. But they can’t fake it forever and will need to decide if they can risk their feelings turning real.

Witch Boyfriend Wanted is a low angst fake-dating mm paranormal romance. HEA guaranteed! It's the fourth book in the Love & Magic series but can be read as a stand alone. Each book features a different couple. While the books are best enjoyed in order if you intend to read them all, this book has the fewest series spoilers. Intended for adult audiences, CWs can be found on the author's website.

This was an utterly charming witchy romance with the fake boyfriend trope. I stayed up WAY WAY past my normal bedtime to finish this, and that is so not like me. It was just so cute! I was already looking forward to this after reading book 3, as I felt so bad for Luca after his Dad's actions in that book. I'm sorry to say his Dad did not redeem himself to me in this one, but that's okay because I felt like Luca had a ton of growth as a character because of this. He just needed something, or someone I should say, in his life to motivate him to finally stand up for himself. Thankfully for us all, Theo was just that person.

I loved how sweet this book was. How Luca and Theo's disastrous date somehow turned into them pretending to be each other's fake boyfriends. The romantic moments they kept having with one another, both worrying the other wasn't feeling it too. Luca was so supportive of Theo. He was the first person in his life to make Theo feel like someone saw the real him and that they truly liked what they saw.

Theo's parents were absolutely wonderful people. It made me so sad for Luca when he saw how caring parents were supposed to be. And even though Theo's siblings definitely needed a talking to, I did feel their hassling came from a place of love. Just because Theo would rather curl up on a Friday night and read a good book than go out to a club doesn't mean his life is boring. He was perfectly content and honestly, same Theo, same.

The mystery had me second guessing myself a few times. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I will say I hope a certain someone gets their own HEA after events of this book. My heart just hurt so bad for them. I did enjoy catching up with previous MCs, especially Edwin. I loved how earnest he was in wanting him and Luca to be friends. It shows how much he's also grown as a character. And I bet it helped that Luca and Theo were so obviously smitten with one another. I have no regrets on the loss of sleep I suffered having read this book and recommend it for those looking for a low angst and sweetly magical romance.
