Honey Bee Murder (Honey Bear Cosy Mysteries Book 2) by Dahlia Donovan

It's only been a month since their last involvement in murder, but somehow George and Murphy find themselves embroiled in another murder investigation. With George as a suspect, they want to hurry up and find the real murderer so that maybe they can just have a night in for takeaway and a movie. Honey Bee Murder is the 2nd book in the Honey Bear Cosy Mysteries series.

From the blurb:

George Bernard Sheth plans to spend July in the garden with his beloved pug, Bumble. He’s tending to his bees when a neighbour harasses him quite vocally. When the man winds up dead, all eyes are
immediately on George and the many hives in his garden.

Murphy Baird knows without a doubt George wouldn’t harm a fly or a bee or an obnoxious rich businessman. He balances keeping his brewery going with trying to help solve the murder and preparing for the upcoming Highland Games. It’s not made any easier by the impending visit from his father.

As the mystery deepens, they find themselves not knowing quite who to trust.
Can they find the killer before George winds up arrested for murder?

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Honey Bear Cosy Mysteries), best if read in order. Established couple. POC representation. Dual POV.

Quick read. A return to Dufftown where George is happily keeping his bees and Murphy is tending to his pub and testing new mead recipes with George’s honey. When an obnoxious new neighbor ends up dead and George and his bees are suspected, George and Murphy’s friends and family gather again to find the murderer.

Delightful writing with a not too dark murder mystery and the wonderful cast of characters from the series supporting and protecting their own. It is nice to see George and Murphy slowly evolving their relationship.

Their caring and happiness together is super sweet. I am amazed that Dahlia Donovan can produce an interesting mystery in such a short time and am always up for a glimpse of the main characters in George and Murphy that are some of my favorites.
