Bonds of Blood (Wild Hearts Book 5) by Nazri Noor

Bonds of Blood
is possibly the last book in the Wild Hearts series from Nazri Noor, and if so, I will miss the Prince of Flowers and his beloved wizard. Locke and Sylvain have a bitter enemy to fight and have to rely on their love and the loyalty of their friends to survive. Another fun adventure at the Wispwood Academy.

From the blurb:

Family matters.

With the help of his found family and his beloved Prince Sylvain, Lochlann Wilde has finally
conquered the four oriels of the Wispwood. Now that the elemental gemstones are united in his amulet, Locke can earn Aphrodite’s favor.

Whatever that may be. But there’s plenty to do in the meantime, anyway. Catching up with his mom, for example, or exploring his true identity as a half-undine human. Sylvain’s hotness and histrionics keep him very busy, too.

But something strange is afoot at the academy. The arrival of a familiar face, a mythical mage, a living legend… except that no one even knew he was still alive.

Grand Summoner Baylor Wilde has returned to the Wispwood.

SNik's Review:

Bonds of Blood is the fifth book in the series (Wild Hearts), must be read in order. Paranormal fantasy adventure. Established couple. Primarily single POV. Quick read.

Just when things may be settling down for Locke and Sylvain, Locke’s family reunion expands to include an unexpected surprise. While Locke tries to keep his family and friends close, there is more trouble just around the corner, and his friends and the whole Wispwood Academy have to rise to the occasion.

This story develops quickly and action ensues, while the loyalty of Locke and Sylvain with their friends never falters, which is always the main attraction of this series. The only thing I would wish for is more time spent with just Locke and Sylvain because I really enjoy when they are together, either bantering or being spicy with each other.

I think this is the intended end of the series, and if so, I am so sad as it has been a fun adventure with Locke, Sylvain, and all their found family at the Wispwood academy.
