And Then You (Until Book 2) by Briar Prescott

Enjoy a harmonious balance of humor with slight angst in this slow burn romance. Briar Prescott lives up to the hype with this much anticipated sequel to Until You in AND THEN YOU.

From the blurb:

Here’s the thing: I am not—I repeat not—boyfriend material. I’m a good time for one night, and that’s it.
Figures I manage to get myself into a situation where I have to pretend to be in a relationship.
Ah, well. Not much else to do now than suck it up and get it over with.
I’m in. I’m out. I’m done.
But then Quinn says he’s curious.
He says I’m a liar.
He says he wants to see the real me.
Honestly, I can’t run away fast enough after that.
Because he doesn’t know.
Doesn’t know that I’m a landmine.
That he’s trudging so close.
That he’s about to step on me.
And then?
I’ll ruin him.

Molly Otto's Review:

After reading until you weren't sure how Briar could follow up that book, but wow, does she do that and more.

Steph is that beautiful chaotic mess that draws you in and holds on tight, with Quinn being his grounding light once he breaks through the chaos to see they balance each other.

And Then You may be a slow burn, but for these two to work right, it needed to be that way for them to be able to let each other in. The chemistry is palpable where you know once they collide it's going to be magical, and oh boy, was it that and then some.

This story has that perfect balance of humor, angst, and passion that keeps you wanting more and more.

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Until), but can be read as a standalone. Antagonism to love. Fake relationship. Opposites attract. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warning.

Steph breezes through life, never taking anything seriously, and certainly not trying to find happiness he doesn’t feel he deserves. Steph has known Quinn for years. They run in the same friend circles, but there's always been animosity between them. When they have to fake a relationship, their mutual attraction simmers, but Quinn wants to know more about Steph, and there is no way Steph can let him in.

Both men have known heartache, and it’s the witty banter they trade with each other that allows them to slowly build a deeper understanding for the other and a budding relationship between them.

I absolutely love how the author writes a main character (in both books from this series) that is respectfully adamant and committed to getting to know the other character, allowing trust and honesty to grow. There is no deterring their feelings.

This book was well-written, emotional, funny, spicy, and everything you could wish for in a romance story.

Miki J's Review:

From the first chapter, I was totally hooked!!! Mainly told from Steph's POV - you are in the front passenger seat with him as his life spirals outta control... and then, slowly, oh so slowly, back on track.

What starts as an inadvertent fake boyfriend situation, it obviously becomes "safe." Such a small word - but packs a lot of meaning and emotion. And when he finally says "okay" to the first date... swoon, YES!!!!

I'm glad as well that Quinn persisted, but not in an overbearing way... he really knew how to handle Steph. Their cheeky and irrelevant banter had me cracking up... and then I'd be teary.

This story doesn't hold back and you'll be on an emotional rollercoaster while reading this book. Absolutely brilliant!!!
