Violent Demand (Blackrose Brotherhood Book 3) by Ariana Nash

If you are a fan of the Blackrose Brotherhood series, then Violent Demand absolutely cannot be missed. Prepare to have your mind blown. Fair warning.

From the blurb:

Cast out and hunted by the Brotherhood, Octavius is on borrowed time. He has one chance to prove his innocence, one chance to put things right, before Mikalis hunts him down and executes him.

He must find Saint.

But the Brotherhood member-turned-nyk whom they all seem to fear, is unlikely to make it easy. Still, Octavius has nothing left to lose. He will recapture Saint, or die trying.

*

Saint has seen it all. He doesn't care why or how he was freed from the Brotherhood's captivity. He just wants to gorge and f*ck his way toward the impending apocalypse. Is that too much to ask?

The Brotherhood member that's following him? The quick, vicious, but curiously alluring one with a shock of white hair? He doesn't matter to Saint. If he gets too close, Saint will finish him. Because the last thing Saint wants or needs is to get dragged back behind bars. If that happens, this time, with everything he knows about their fearless leader, Mikalis, Saint will tear the Brotherhood apart.

Octavius needs to stay away for his own good, because if Saint catches him, he just might teach him what it truly means to be nyktelios. And how the Brotherhood has been lied to for millennia.

Besides, what does it matter, when none of them have long left to live...

Please note: while each book in the Blackrose Brotherhood series focuses on a new MM couple, there is an over-arching series plot. Readers will get much more enjoyment from the series by reading the previous two books first.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

"ᴏᴄᴛᴀᴠɪᴜꜱ ᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ʙᴏᴛʜ ᴊᴜꜱᴛ ᴀꜱ ᴍᴜᴄʜ, ɪꜰ ɴᴏᴛ ᴍᴏʀᴇ, ᴛʜᴀɴ ʜᴇ ᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀʜᴏᴏᴅ. ʜᴇ'ᴅ ʙʀᴇᴀᴋ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʟʟ ʀᴜʟᴇꜱ ᴛᴏ ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ꜱᴀꜰᴇ."

HOLY MOTHER EFFING SHIT! When Nash said there were going to be some shocking revelations in this one, she wasn't lying. I'm still not recovered, and I finished a few days ago. I couldn't even sit down to write my review right away after finishing like I usually do because I still had so many theories bouncing around in my brain after reading. Violent Demand is a turning point in this series. There are major plot reveals, a few wild twists, and of course a betrayal or two thrown in.

I truly enjoyed getting to know Octavius, Saint, and their human Jayden. Oh, did I mention this book is MMM? That was definitely one of the surprises for me while reading because there was absolutely no warning about that whatsoever. Ariana Nash sure knows how to keep a secret. Thinking back to the few teasers/hints we got for the book, I can now appreciate how sneaky she was being. Well played Nash. Well played!

"ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴛʀɪᴏ ᴡᴀꜱ ꜱᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ. ʜᴇ ʜᴀᴅɴ'ᴛ ʜᴀᴅ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴏɴꜱɪᴅᴇʀ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ᴀʟʟ ᴍᴇᴀɴᴛ, ᴊᴜꜱᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ꜱᴛʀᴏɴɢᴇʀ ꜰᴏʀ ɪᴛ."

Saint turned out to be extremely unexpected. He was nothing like I was imagining and was actually super freaking sweet. That isn't to say he couldn't be the vicious nyk he was, because oh boy could he, especially if Octavius or Jay were threatened. But underneath all the fangs and claws, the nyk had a heart, and he showed it when it came to the men he considered his. And then there's Octavius. Behind his mask of indifference was just a man who wanted to be accepted. He'd hidden behind his walls for so long and though it took some time, eventually they started to fall thanks to Saint and Jay. Speaking of Jay, that human was just a bright ball of sunshiney, horny, goodness. He was perfect for them and exactly what was needed for their trio to flourish, and I'm not just talking about his blood.

"ʜɪꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ɪꜱ ᴡʀɪᴛᴛᴇɴ ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡɪɴɴᴇʀꜱ."

I'm still not sure about Mikalis, which is exactly what I think is this author's intention. Big reveals aside, there are still some things that do not add up. I'm crossing my fingers that we won't have to wait long for the next book after this one because I am on the edge of my seat needing to know what happens next.

Jacquie's Review:

What the actual F***??? Violent Demand is game-changing for the series. There's so much to process from it.

It starts and ends with action, it barely slows, and when it does, I was kinda left with aftershocks from what I'd just learned. I'm still reeling from stuff at 20% and I'm finished!

Nash has some serious talent. I've been a fan for years and this book is exactly why. When the series started I had theories, only to pivot when given more information, but I was right, but also, what do I believe now? I'm so confused and entertained at the same time. This series gives my brain a workout for sure. I'm trying to put the puzzle pieces together and they keep changing!

Saint was everything I hoped he would be. Ever since he was introduced, I knew he would be a favorite. He is not a good guy, but he is perfect for Jayden and Octavius. The 3 of them together is just perfect.

I really hope that book 4 isn't too far away because I still need more answers!
