Tyrant, Ruthless Daddies 2 #5 by Gianni Holmes

A heartless mobster that is hurt and upends a boy's life, leaving him to a horrible and sheltered existence. But when Yaro meets Daisy 18 years later, his innocence and needs call to him, even though Yaro has no love to give and Daisy is desperate for it. A violent and taboo story not for the faint of heart. Tyrant is part of the second season of Ruthless Daddies books.

From the blurb:

Rumor has it I’m a tyrant.

The head of the Russian mob you don’t want to cross.

After all, I killed my wife when she betrayed me.

Then I buried her in the same grave as her lover, my best friend.

Rumor has it I stole their love child.

The little boy that, for the first two years of his life, I thought was mine.

They say I locked him up on a deserted estate where he’s gone mad talking to imaginary friends.

Rumor has it the boy is mine now.

That I let him roam my mansion completely naked.

And he has a life sentence for paying for his mother’s crimes in my bed.

Rumor has it I’m obsessed with this little ray of sunshine in my dark world.

And anyone who tries to hurt him will soon take their last breath.

Still, you shouldn’t listen to rumors. They're not always true. Sometimes.

Tyrant is a part of the Ruthless Daddies 2 multi-author collab and a complete standalone. Expect to find a ruthless Daddy and the pure, innocent boy he works hard to shield from the world. HEA is guaranteed. Want more deliciously morally gray Daddies and boys? Grab the whole series!

SNik's Review:

Part of a multi-author series (Ruthless Daddies 2) but all are standalone stories. Age gap. Heed content warnings.

Nobody, not even Yaro, believes he’s capable of kind feelings after having been betrayed by his wife and best friend years ago, but he took care of that problem and swears to never trust again. When Yaro has an unexpected run in with Daisy, and discovers that he is slightly obsessed with the boy he is responsible for, it turns his world upside down.

Daisy is naïve and innocent, not being educated or cared for, but once he meets Yaro, he feels like he could have something special with Yaro, beyond just sexual.

There were some parts of this story that were really compelling, Daisy as a positive, forgiving person and Yaro being unable to let go of his past pain.

Plenty of steam, with some fun (and some awful) secondary characters, mixed with plenty of violence, jealousy and bits of sweetness sprinkled in.

Rating: 4.25 Stars

Reds Book Reads Review:

I loved how sweet and innocent Daisy was and how wholeheartedly he believed in Yaro. I also adored how dark and depraved Yaro was and how he slowly became taken with Daisy’s charms and found himself enamored with him.

Such a fantastic dark daddy romance and I can’t wait for whatever she writes next!
