Overtime (Alpha Omega Hockey Book 3) by Marina Vivancos

When Ishir's best friend gets traded to his hockey team he's thrilled, but hiding his long time feelings from Zane will be more difficult now that they will be living together. Also, when Zane starts to take his wingman duties a little too seriously and his possessiveness is reaching all time highs, Ishir starts to get confused. Does Zane want more or is that just Ishir's wishful thinking? SNik read Overtime.

From the blurb:

Ishir is happy when his best friend Zane is traded to his team, the Brooklyn Cats. Why wouldn’t he be? They’ve known each other since they were kids. Zane was the first person he came out to as gay—an Alpha who’s attracted to other Alphas. Zane has been there for him every step of the way.

Oh, and Ishir is madly in love with him.

Ishir isn’t going to make it a problem, though. Sure, they’re living together, so he has to see Zane strut around shirtless. And, okay, Zane knows about Ishir’s weird little superstition—
Ishir can only come when he scores a goal. It’s his thing, okay?
But when Zane starts involving himself in who Ishir can sleep with…in how he gets himself off…well, things start getting a little more complicated.
Zane likes to tell him what to do, and Ishir likes listening.

They’re just best friends, though. Nothing more.
Ishir is just going to have to accept that…or break his heart trying.

This is the third instalment of Alpha Omega Hockey but can be read as a stand-alone.

SNik's Review:

Third in series (Alpha Omega Hockey), best if read in order to understand the Alpha/omega universe. Best friends/roommates to lovers. Single POV.

Ishir has always been attracted to other Alphas, and unfortunately been in love with his best friend for years. Now that Zane has been traded to the same hockey team and they will be living together Ishir is sure he can manage Zane’s close proximity full time, no problem, he hopes. But Zane’s protectiveness and constant presence starts to cross boundaries when Zane involves himself in Ishir’s personal pleasure times (whether by himself or with others).

It is clear that Ishir and Zane are close friends and the relationship easily falls into intimacy, Ishir’s yearning is heartbreaking and Zane’s possessiveness (if you enjoy that type of Alpha), is total swoon.

Every single interaction between them shows their emotional ties, there is no other person that could fit them better, and Vivancos is a superstar when writing edging, denial, and praise scenes.
