Dirty Sexy Stupid Love by Sophia Soames

Even when Harry is at his lowest and being his most awful Owen can't seem to help taking care of him. That's what love is. Harry has never experienced love, and doesn't feel worthy of Owen's care, but he can't bring himself to let Owen go. Two men that find happiness can be found with the not necessarily perfect person but the person perfect for you by your side. SNik read and reviewed Dirty Sexy Stupid Love.

From the blurb:

In the weeks leading up to his best friend’s wedding, twenty-three-year-old Harry Thunder truly hits rock bottom. Existing in a haze of vodka and self-destruction, there’s more to Harry’s obnoxious
behaviour than meets the eye.

But life, as he knows it, is about to change, and not even Harry can stop the tsunami of feelings when he finally realises that he’s allowed to be happy. That he’s just as loveable as people like…Owen Cartwright.

Owen is large and loud and calls everyone babes, while Harry can’t even string a coherent sentence together, let alone get through the day without life punching him in the face.

But perhaps sometimes being exactly who you are can be why people fall in love with you.
Even if you’re not gay. At all.

SNik's Review:

Standalone. Friends to lovers. Hurt/comfort. Dual POV.

Harry is struggling, his life is falling apart, and he finds solace in drinking his cares away. Part of the reason Harry drinks is that he knows Owen will step up and take care of him, and as pitiful as that sounds, he doesn’t want to give up that one bright spot in his miserable life.

Owen is a nurse, and nurturing and caring are his normal, but he knows his crush on Harry is hopeless since Harry insists he isn’t gay. But Owen is stuck in the spiral of wanting Harry around even if it breaks his heart.

Soames has a knack for writing beautifully flawed characters that have been kicked around by life and are struggling but are able to find that special person that finds them irresistible and helps them believe they can be loved. This story delves into both Harry and Owen’s pasts, has fun and supportive secondary characters, some steamy interactions, and enough realism that not everything is easily overcome but with enough love and determination Harry and Owen can build a life full of happiness together.

Harry and Owens declarations of their fears and feelings were so honest and swoony, these two brought tears to my eyes more than once.
