The Time-Out: An MM CEO Romance (Business as Usual Book 1) by Vinni George

Vinni Gerorge starts a new with a trip to Belize in The Time-Out.

From the blurb:

Work hard, play harder? Not when it’s my name on the side of the building and my family’s legacy. Unfortunately, my parents think I need a break, specifically in the form of a nonrefundable, nontransferable, nonnegotiable forced vacation.

Which sounds awful until a handsome hipster drops into the seat next to me on the plane.

He isn’t my type, but there’s something magnetic about him, and in a totally out-of-character move, I ask him to stay with me for the week.

Cole thinks everything is an adventure and wants to pull me along for the ride, but when things heat up between us, I wonder if maybe the risk I took asking him to stay is actually a hazard to my heart.

Can a vacation fling turn into more once we’re back to business as usual?

I guess there’s only one way to find out…

The Time-Out is book one in the LGBTQ+ Business as Usual series and features Oscar—a CEO who has forgotten to make time to live, Cole—a data analyst who treats everyday like an adventure, and a chance meeting that leads to a week of discovery and a happily ever.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

"I knew without a doubt that Oscar Douglas was going to be my greatest adventure"

This was a super cute and low angst vacation romance. In fact, I would totally put this in the category of the perfect beach read. It mostly takes place on a tropical island, one that from the sound of it would be absolute paradise. I can't imagine how lovely it would be to be the only inhabitants of a luxury island besides your private chef and the man responsible for ferrying you into town. I swear I'm living the wrong life some days. But back to our MCs.

Cole and Oscar couldn't have been more opposite if they tried. Oscar is the quintessential workaholic CEO. He basically doesn't even have friends since he's almost always either working or sleeping. So much so that his own parents had to force him to take a "Time Out" in the form of the aforementioned vacation. It's here he meets Cole. Cole who likes to fly by the seat of his pants, even when it comes to his vacations. He never has a destination or plan in mind, just goes where the day takes him. In all honestly his method of traveling gave me hives just thinking about it. I'm the type of person who has a full itinerary and has read about a million reviews of the place I'll be staying before I even book it. I couldn't imagine traveling to a far off destination with no idea where I'd be staying before I landed.

After Oscar meets Cole on the plane and ends up offering for him to stay with him for the week sparks start to fly almost immediately. Cole swears he's going to get the buttoned up Oscar out of his comfort zone and proceeds to take him on many a new adventure. I loved how each of his surprises turned out and I even loved how each and every time he had to convince Oscar to even try whatever the thing was. They balanced each other well and that balance even extended to the bedroom when they finally took that leap.

Some old friends pop up and it was fun to see them too. It seems like we may finally get Julian's book at some point since he also makes an appearance. I remember being teased with him in the Open Doors series. Here's hoping his HEA is next!
