His Dangerous Omega, Sweet Alps Mates Book 4 by Raiven Matthews

His Dangerous Omega is the 4th book in the Sweet Alps Mates series and gives us the last, and youngest, of the Sinclair brothers HEA.

From the blurb:

Jamie Sinclair

Meeting my fated mate in the middle of a top-secret assignment hadn’t been ideal. Nine years ago, he’d disappeared without a trace, and everyone assumed he was dead. Except me. I foolishly believed we would see each other again. I just didn’t expect him to turn up with a trail of dead bodies in his wake, or a child who could be my double. Despite the years that separated us, the anger, and the deceit, one thing remained – my love for him.

Sebastian Hollingsworth

My entire relationship with my fated mate was built on secrets. Nine years ago, I’d needed to disappear for my own safety. When my life was once again threatened, I’d run to the one man I knew would protect my son with his life. What I hadn’t expected was the burning anger I saw in his eyes when he looked at me. Or to realize that despite the secrets and our short time together, I had somehow fallen in love with him and had never stopped.

Was there a chance for us to build something real when everything between us had been lies?

*Trigger and Content Warning** On page deaths of a bunch of bad people, who you won’t care about and will probably cheer when they meet their maker. In all seriousness, this book does talk about the serious subject of human trafficking. While this all takes place off page and does not go into detail, the reader should be aware. There are also instances of children being in danger, but no harm is done to them. These topics are discussed briefly on homelessness, overdose, and school bullying . If any of this content may be triggering to you, please use your best judgment.

His Dangerous Omega” is the fourth book in the Sweet Alps Mates series. While it is not necessary to have read the previous books, some readers find it more enjoyable since a few favorite characters make appearances. This book contains fated mates, shifters, heats, knotting, mpreg, a whole lot of secrets and lies, a snarky kid and an HEA. Please note that no king cobras were harmed in the making of this book, I promise.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

It's no secret I love the Sweet Alps Mates series. I mean, the 5 stars I've given each book pretty much speaks that itself. I didn't think anyone could compete with my love for Finn and Wade, but Bash and Jamie came pretty damn close. We do see a good amount of Wade in this book, but he's kinda sorta off the rails a bit for most of it. You'll understand when you read it. I promise.

Bash was such an interesting character. He's a total Brit, complete with the posh attitude and his love of a good cuppa. I also would say that Matthews wouldn't have been off base had she titled this book "His Fussy Omega Mate". On top of that, Bash is also a total freaking badass. I love how the omegas in this series are such strong men and Bash is one of the strongest. He's been through so much in his young life, yet he's survived it all. He's raised an amazing son all on his own for 8 years, while also knowing the time may come at any moment when that would have to change.

"ᴍʏ ꜱᴏɴ ᴅᴇꜱᴇʀᴠᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ꜰʀᴇᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ. ʜᴇ ᴅɪᴅɴ'ᴛ ᴅᴇꜱᴇʀᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴘᴜɴɪꜱʜᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ʙᴏᴛʜ ʜɪꜱ ꜰᴀᴛʜᴇʀꜱ' ꜱɪɴꜱ."

That's what a parent does. They put their child first. It's also exactly what Jamie would have done had he known his son Matty existed. I didn't blame Jamie one bit for being downright bullshit Bash kept his son a secret all these years. And I also didn't blame him when he eventually made the adult decision to forgive. Bash is his fated mate. He loves him. They have a beautiful son together (whom I absolutely adored FYI). Nine years apart was already nine years too many in Jamie's eyes.

Beside the romance, there were also a few surprises thrown in including one that totally blew my mind. Sneaky authors and their sneaky twists. We also get a few mini flashbacks which I truly enjoyed because it helped put some of the puzzle pieces together of their shared past. Steam wise, all I'm going to say is I'll never look at a unicorn the same way again. Another thing that will make sense when you read it, which you can now it is out!

SNik's Review:

Fourth in series (Sweet Alps Mates), might be more fun if read in order but can be read as a standalone. Alpha/omega, mpreg. Second chance. Fated mates. Found family. Dual POV.

Having his fated mate burst back into his life after 9 years throws former undercover operative Jamie into an emotional whirlwind, anger and love vying for the two top spots. Sebastian has been on the run after his last undercover assignment and keeping himself and his son safe hasn’t been easy, but he always knew he could go to Jamie for protection, even if Sebastian didn’t feel worthy of his fated mate.

Truly a second chance for two men that never stopped loving each other but have to overcome past mistakes. Sebastian is an intelligent and beyond capable omega, and Alpha Jamie is a great counterpart with his caring and generous nature.

Along with a supportive family surrounding them, Sebastian and Jamie navigate a new beginning leaving the past behind and starting an honest relationship.

Really an entertaining read, likable main characters, a great found family, and a sweet second chance for a deserving couple.

Holly's Review:

If Raiven's books are new to you, I strongly recommend you go back and start from the beginning, not because it's needed but because you won't regret it.

In this story, we finally get to dive into Jamie's backstory and the one that got away. Sebastián and the addition of Matty were just lovely.

This story was emotional, action-packed, and sexy as sin, and with Wade having ample sass and page time, it might just have become my favorite of the series. (Please don't tell Wade).
As always, I was sucked into the world Raiven has crafted. I laughed, I cried, and I was cheering for the happy couple the whole time.

I'm so excited to see what Raiven does next. Read this book. Read them all. You won't be disappointed.

Angel's Review:

Ever since I read His Sassy Omega, I was very intrigued by Jamie's character.  Jamie's character was shrouded in mystery from the get-go. He was the Sinclair brother I was the most excited to read about. And man... This book was well worth the wait!

Throughout this whole series I have been wondering what happened to Jamie, how did he know he had a fated mate, but wasn't with him? There were so many unanswered questions, and in this book we finally got the answers we've been waiting for.

Sebastian has had to do what he could to protect his son Matty, even if that meant staying away from his fated mate. But when his and Matty's life is in danger he flees to Sweet Alps, the place he knows is where Jamie and his family resides. He never expected for Jamie to forgive him, much less want to build a relationship with him. However, before they could get to that point they had a lot to discuss...

I was beyond excited to read this story, and to find out that Jamie has a son?! I was as shocked as he was! That was such a shocker, but it definitely fit the story. Nothing felt misplaced or unnecessary, and the action scenes were well written. I was quite surprised by them, they were very well written. As was the whole book, well written, good pace, and we got to see the fantastic characters we've met in past books. Along with getting introduced to new characters! I adored Matty, he was snarky but incredibly intelligent, and he loved sweets just like his dad. I adored Matty and Jamie's bonding moments, and when Jamie asked for  Matty's permission to date his dad? It was so sweet!

I wish there were more scenes of these characters being in their animal forms but that's very minor.

Wade and Sebastian's relationship was... Strained.. at least at first. It slowly escalated then grew, and it was very funny reading about their banter with each other.

I loved how Raiven had the other characters from past books be so prevalent through this story, I loved seeing them again! Matty, Sebastian, Finn, Wade, Ryan, Brenn, Lachlan, Quinn,Brendan, Gigi, Becks, Ronen. And prepare yourself for all of the surprises that happens at their cabin!

Even though this has funny and light elements throughout the book, be prepared for the scenes that'll make you tear up! Cause I certainly did.

The artwork in the back of the book made me aww out loud, I absolutely adored that.

Dez's Review:

Jamie Sinclair found and lost his fated mate all in the span of a couple of weeks almost eight years ago. He’s always had the slightest spark of hope of finding him but he wasn’t holding his breath no matter if his wolf was telling him his mate was out there. His head knew what he heard all those years ago. He’s left that life behind and is determined to keep it that way.

Sebastian Hollingsworth couldn’t go back to the man he had met all those years ago. He was scared of what he would find. He did however know that if push came to shove he could trust him with the most important person in his life. The reason he had left and stayed away for so long. Sebastian prayed that day when he would have to seek him out would never come but he knew life wasn’t always easy.

When the inevitable happens and Sebastian and Jamie are forced into each others orbits once again it will take everything in them to trust themselves and each other not to repeat past mistakes.

Raiven Mathews does an excellent job at navigating the delicate and fragile relationship between Jamie and Sebastian. It was so easy for me to get lost in the heavy emotions from both characters. I couldn’t put my phone down for a second. I was so engrossed in all the secrets that were being unveiled and loved the healing process that happened between our two main characters.
