Full Throttle, Lights Out by Lisa Henry

Set in the world of F1, a PR guru and a misbehaving driver come together in Full Throttle.

From the blurb:

When Lennox and Connor race full throttle into a secret relationship, can they navigate the track, or will they crash and burn?

Lennox Bradley is Formula 1 royalty. His father was an F1 champion, and so is his brother, so expectations are high for Lennox’s debut season. But when he suffers a koala-related PR disaster at the Australian Grand Prix, he’s thrust into the media spotlight. For an introvert like Lennox, it’s a nightmare.

Connor Blake doesn’t know the first thing about Formula 1, but as communications manager for Bradley Racing, it’s his job to manage the fallout for Lennox. Except Lennox isn’t anything like the arrogant, shallow guy he’s expecting, and it gets harder and harder to deny the magnetism between them. When Connor and Lennox both have to choose what it is they really want for themselves, is there any room for a future together?

This M/M romance from Lisa Henry features a secret relationship, two guys who are bad at admitting their feelings, pining, and is set in the high octane world of Formula 1 featuring fast cars, driving at the limit, spectacular crashes, heated rivalries, and of course, a HEA.

Each book in the Lights Out collection is a standalone story, and the books can be read in any order.

Sheena's Review:

Full Throttle is part of the multi-author Lights Out series, set in the world of Formula 1. I haven't come across many stories set in the world of motor racing, let alone MM stories. I love Lisa Henry's writing so I was really looking forward to this.

This is half the story of Lennox and his family, and half Lennox and Connor's story. I really liked Lennox, he was so misunderstood at the start of the story, he's living in the shadow of not one, but two giants and it can't be easy trying to find your own way against an overbearing father like his. I loved how Connor saw the real Lennox from the start, not the public facade he showed to everyone else.

I really liked the connection between the two, it builds from a mutual distrust at the start to friendship, to lovers and a lovely HEA. All set in the fast paced world of F1. I really enjoyed this story, it's ultimately sweet and uplifting seeing Lennox come into his own, and stand up to his overbearing father.

Heather's Review:

Having been teased with Lennox's story in RJ Scott's book, Team Orders, I was primed and ready to get to this book and I wasn't disappointed!  Lennox had so much on his plate - and he really needed to connect with someone before he imploded... I'm glad he chose Connor, even if they had a bit of a roller coaster going on between them - I liked how much Connor paid attention and the conveniently offered generic coffee when it was needed...

This story is truly about Lennox coming into his own - and coming out for that matter - he needs his truths to be heard and he needs to deal with the family and media expectations that being a newly minted F1 Reserve driver for the team his father owns means and what he wants in the future...

Full Throttle is a great combination of sweet moments, emotional drama and just a dash of heat... it kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last.
