Charisma Check, Dungeons and Dating #6 by Katherine McIntyre

Jasper and Matt are both co-owners of gay businesses. A large anti gay corporation decides to start buying all the buildings and forcing the gay businesses to close. Luckily Matt and Ryan own their building but the same can't be said for Jasper and his co-owners. Jasper's business was originally thought of when he and his bff's were in college and he can't face loosing it.

From the blurb for Charisma Check:

Never fall for the straight guy—Jasper knows better. At least until his straight guy crush starts crushing back…

Jasper Tanaka has made an art form out of avoiding commitment. Which is why his crush on a nearby cafĂ© owner, Matt, has been perfect—the guy is straight, vanilla, and far too sweet—everything that puts him out of Jasper’s reach.

Matt Reed’s always been unlucky in love, never enough for his partners. And when his most recent girlfriend dumps him, he decides to take a chance on something new—a rope class. Lucky for him, Jasper’s there, and their time together sparks an attraction that both surprises and captivates Matt.

When a developer’s offer threatens to shut Tabletop Tavern down, Jasper’s grasping for any distraction possible—and Matt offers the perfect one. Except the intense feelings between become far too real, and if Matt decides this was just a curiosity, Jasper won’t survive the loss of the one guy he’s let in and the only home he’s ever known.

Roll the dice on romance at Tabletop Tavern...

Reedkaye's Review:

Warmhearted story. Matt and Jasper are business owners when a large corporation decides to start buying out the all the gay businesses. Luckily Matt and his partner Ryan own their building but the same can’t be said for Jasper and his co-owners. Jasper can’t see anyway to save the Tabletop Tavern.  He has been visiting Matt’s shop and gets into a discussion with him. One thing leads to another and …

Charisma Check is a tenderhearted story with just enough upheaval and romance to keep it interesting. The solution to saving the Tabletop Tavern is original. The characters are lovable. It’s sad this is the end.

Holly's Review:

I picked it up, planning to read a few chapters and read and read until I reached the stunning end. The author has an incredible way of writing that pulls you in and sucks you into the world they've crafted. Jasper and Matt had such a journey, and I was thrilled to go along on the ride of a lifetime with them.

Sweetness, spice, kink, connection, banter, and friends, all with some authentic realness and wholesomeness, are thrown in the mix. I laughed, I cried, and I got to the end feeling wholly satisfied.

I have to be up in a few hours, and this book is 100 percent worth tomorrow's tiredness.

Heather's Review:

Bittersweet - the end of an era at the Tabletop Tavern, although I'm happy that so many of the characters may have a chance to visit Whipped in the next series... and I have to say that Matt and Jasper's story was sweet, steamy and endearing.  I loved that they were open to discovering new things about themselves and each other and the trust levels... chef's kiss...

90% of the drama was outside the relationship and it gave the book tension without making the relationship tense.  I truly enjoyed and devoured this book and I can't wait to read the next series!
