From the blurb:

Chris Delaney

I've promised myself that this was going to be the year to finally buckle down. I'm a junior, and I’ve settled on a major. I've got focus and determination. The one thing I haven't figured out yet? How to deal with the massive crush I've been harboring on the guy in study carrel six. I don’t know his name, and some of my friends think it’s time for me to move on, but he has this whole sexy, broody, dark eyes and messy hair thing going for him. And yeah, he seems like he could be my polar opposite. The kind of unapproachable, serious type who doesn’t smile much, but I’d like to think he’s all rays of sunshine underneath his stormy expressions and disheveled demeanor. All that intense energy…I dig it. I want to know him.

The rub? I’ll have to find the courage to actually introduce myself.

Aiden Russo

The college experience is supposed to be parties, drinking, and fun with a few classes mixed in. It sounds pretty amazing, right? For me, it turned out to be endless lectures, avalanches of homework, and copious amounts of caffeine. The study carrel might as well be my dorm room. And that guitar under my bed? It's got two years of dust growing on it. But this is the life I have to lead if I’m ever going to help my dad. Pre-med isn’t for the weak.

The problem? Loneliness holds me hostage. If only I could find someone willing to break through my ever-present cloud bank, and remind me what it’s like to have fun again.

Lesetiger's Review:

I liked the story about Aiden and Chris. Aiden is struggling with family problems and also with his choice of studies. Chris had a crush on him ever since he saw him on campus. And when the two meet for the first time, it gets a little embarrassing. But you can feel the unique chemistry between the two right from the start.

It was fun to follow the path of the two, who are just about to find their place in life. I loved Chris for being sensitive and patient. But it was also nice to see Aiden figure out what he really wants and what makes him happy.

I found the story entertaining. It was well told, and it had interesting characters.

The audiobook was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Michael Crouch, both very talented storytellers. They gave the characters the appropriate voices. Both have a pleasant voice and I really liked the way they portrayed the emotions. It was a pleasure to listen to the audiobook.

ReedKaye's Review:

Chris first saw “Science Guy”, Aiden, his freshman year. He has had a crush on him ever since, but is too shy to do anything about it. He goes out of his way to see Aiden but just can’t get the courage to approach him.

Aiden is studying pre-med, centering on helping his dad. His dad has an addiction problem. He has raised Aiden since his wife left. Aiden really is more into music. He plays guitar but it's been two years since he did anything with it. He feels like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and is missing out on the whole college experience trying to keep his scholarship.

Finally, they meet twice and Chris learns Aiden’s name. This gives him the courage to ask Aiden out. Even though Aiden has no time to spare, his attraction to Chris makes him take the time. This is the start of a heartwarming relationship. They find they have so much in common, but then something upsets their lives. The parents on both sides are so supportive that it added so much to this story. The change that happens with Aiden’s career path was so perfect. Aiden’s plans and combined guitar performance brought out the tears. These two together are so perfect for each other.

The narrations by Teddy Hamilton and Michael Crouch brought out all the emotions in this story. They both fit each character so well, plus they fit together perfectly.
