A Body in his Bed (Skandik & Owens Mystery #1) by Sue Brown

Janet loved A Body in his Bed, the first in a new mystery series by Sue Brown.

From the blurb:

An early morning phone call led to an argument. The argument led to a decision. The decision led to a crack. Is Skandik & Owens finished before they started?

For a new private investigator firm on a small island, Skandik & Owens has more work than Olaf and Paul can handle. When they receive a call from a man in custody, Olaf is ready to turn the job away. But the man is Jace Comerford, the successful billionaire who provides them with most of their work.

Comerford woke up beside the dead body of his cheating ex-husband and he doesn’t have a clue how he got there. Now he’s been arrested for murder, and he needs Skandik & Owens to find out what really happened.

Olaf thinks they’re not ready for a murder case. His husband, business partner, pain in the ass, and love of his life disagrees. Who’s going to win this battle of wills?

Janet's Review:

A Body in his Bed is the first book in A Skandik and Owens Mystery. Paul and Olaf are an established couple who has recently gotten married but keeps putting off the honeymoon due to cases popping up.

They are PI and their best customer calls them for help. He finds a dead body in his bed. He’s in shock and doesn’t realize it’s his ex-husband. The police don’t want their help and treat them like suspects.

This was a fantastic mystery! The story kept me engaged and was well plotted out. The pacing was addicting. Couldn’t put it down!
