A Hellhound Called Derek (Mated to the Human #1) by Michelle Frost

A Hellhound Called Derek is the first in a new series from Michelle Frost.

From the blurb:

Touch his mate and you’ll wish for the fires of hell.

Alpha of the Hellhound enforcers, Derek doesn’t think he has time for a mate until the Paranormal Council of the city gives him one.

Hollis is smart, funny, vulnerable…human, and his police commissioner uncle has designs to use Hollis’s new mating for his own ends.

He’ll learn quickly not to mess with a hellhound’s mate

Janet's Review:

A Hellhound Called Derek is a novella and the start to a new series call Mated to the Human. Derek is old, really old, and is the alpha of the Hellhound enforcers. The paranormal council decides to that paranormals must mate with humans.

Hollis is human and the police commissioner’s nephew. Hollis is small in stature and cute, he’s sweet and has anxiety, but Derek is a cinnamon roll and puts Hollis completely at ease.

This was a fun, quick read and I’m excited to read Cane’s book next. Overall, a fantastic introduction to the series. Well written with fast pacing. Loved it!!
