A Beauty for Kinkmas - RA Frick

A Daddy/boy relationship that springs naturally between a former student and the coach he had a crush on years ago. Danny is just the Daddy Lance needs to appreciate that he is a capable boy with scars and Lance could be the boy that Danny never knew he needed.

From the A Beauty for Kinkmas blurb:

“Daddies want beautiful little boys, not scarred men.”

After being scarred in a fire as a teen, Lance ran away from the ghosts of his tiny town. He finds acceptance and a calling as a Firefighter in San Francisco, but is he willing to admit he needs more?

Danny Williams saw himself in Lance, the fastest runner on his track team, and suspected the boy was closeted like him. He worried when Lance disappeared but never believed the town’s gossip: they said Lance had set the fire that killed his father…

When a Kinkmas masquerade ball brings the former coach and a scarred young man back together, sparks fly. Can they admit their feelings and deepest kinky desires, or will they end up spending another holiday season alone?

A Beauty for Kinkmas is a MM Daddy/little novella and part of the Naughty or Nice Season Three multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but there are so many Daddies and boys finding their happily ever afters, why not grab them all?

CW: This book contains consensual acts of adult fun, but also descriptions of an abusive childhood and burn scars.

SNik's Review:

Part of a multi-author series (Naughty or Nice, Season 3) but all are standalone holiday stories. Age gap. Daddy/boy. Found family. POC representation. Quick read. Dual POV.

Lance had to leave his hometown, scarred and afraid, but now he has a group of friends that look out for him and is on his way to becoming a firefighter. Lance doesn’t expect to run into his former coach and first crush, and the immediate chemistry and previous friendship between them leads to more.

I really appreciated that Danny hesitates to start a romantic relationship with Lance given their history and age gap, but they quickly find their balance and feelings of caring and kindness blooms. Lance and Danny have a history and reconnecting allows them to have a Daddy/boy relationship that felt natural and loving, and I was happy that Lance had his own strength and was capable but happy to have someone supportive in his life.

A quick, entertaining read with a HFN for two men that have found their special person.

Nicole's Review:

Danny saw Lance's potential and drive as a teenager, and helped him develop leadership skills by supporting him and taking him on as an assistant coach. There was no hint of unsavory drive at that point in his life. After a horrible accident leaves Lance scarred and afraid of his past, he starts over in San Francisco. A chance meeting years later and a hot, supposedly anonymous encounter proves their chemistry is now off the charts. Danny again supports Lance to work through his issues and past, and proves he can be the daddy his beauty needs.

I have not read any of the authors' other books this seems to tie to, so there are a lot of characters that it is assumed you will be familiar with. I read it fine as a standalone, but this was a little off putting.

Heather's Review:

A Beauty for Kinkmas is a cross-over between the Cuff'd universe and RA Frick's X Club series and if you've read the X Club books you'll see some familiar faces - but it's fine to grab this standalone if you haven't...

This book reunites Lance with Danny after Lance has reinvented himself in San Francisco after a devastating fire - Danny was Lance's high school coach and his crush!  The holiday story unfolds with Danny earning Lance's trust and Lance overcoming obstacles to place his trust in the Daddy he's always wanted...

It's a beautiful story and a great read and I highly recommend you add it to your holiday TBR!

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

An absolute charm cross over of X Club and Cuff’d, and did I ever enjoy catching up with the X Club characters!

Lance and Danny were just too much, their connection instant, continuously building even during their separation. I absolutely loved Danny’s imperative protectiveness, even as a student, but even more so as an adult.

“ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɢʀᴏᴡɴ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴀ ᴠɪꜱɪᴏɴ ɪ ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ ᴛᴀᴋᴇ ᴍʏ ᴇʏᴇꜱ ᴏꜰꜰ ᴏꜰ.”

Their chemistry was fierce and steamy!! Even though there were no signs while student/teacher relations, there was definitely desire building up, exploding upon their reconnection. Absolute cute and sweet Christmas story filled with passionate memories 🫶🏽

Janet's Review:

A Beauty for Kinkmas was a seriously good story. Lance left his hometown, scarred and afraid, he heads to San Francisco. He has reinvented himself and has an amazing group of friends. He runs into Danny, his former coach, and crush. They have chemistry that is immediate and burns hot, but they also have a fantastic friendship connection that helps them reconnect.

I have not read the X Club series but felt this could easily be read as a standalone. Overall, a fantastic read. Well written with nice pacing. I’ll definitely go back and read the X Club series.
