The Heart’s Blood Arrow is the fifth book in the San Amaro Investigations series. It takes off right after A Shattered Silver Crown ends.
The world building is phenomenal and intricate. This story hooked me and did not let me go! There’s a lot going on, it’s easy to differentiate. The pacing just flows and keeps you engaged.
Parker is in trouble again. Parker is being investigated, and he believes it is Robert King. The whole gang is back, along with a few others, to figure out who is trying to destroy The World Tree. At the same time succubae are going missing and Sugar asks Parker to find them.
A bit of mythology within the story. I have a passionate dislike for Nick’s parents! Overall, a phenomenal read that sucked me right in. Well written with fantastic pacing. Highly recommend.

Fifth in series (San Amaro Investigations), must be read in order due to continuing characters and overarching storyline. Paranormal urban fantasy. Found family. Established couple.
Expanding the series to even more outside of the fae and his role as the Windrose, in this book Parker is investigating missing succubae and more threats to the human realm surrounding the Mother’s Crown.
As usual, there is a lot of action, interaction with familiar secondary characters, and Parker struggling with expressing his commitment to Nick.
Enjoyed the intrigue, the suspense, and the small romantic moments between Parker and Nick. I wish Nick’s parents weren’t jerks; I wish Parker didn’t have to hide that he is a fae, I wish that Parker and Nick could have a nice place and some more downtime together, and I believe that the author is moving all of the pieces towards that end for an HEA.
I did try to take my time reading this book because I enjoy this world, the adventure, and all its characters. However, as most good reads, it was over before I wanted it to be. Another fun entry to the San Amaro Investigations series.
