Bet You (Franklin U #4) by Neve Wilder

Enemies to lovers, with sailing, cosplay and window action in Bet You,  Franklin U #4 in the mutli-author series.

From the blurb:

Spencer
Whose brilliant idea was it to build university housing next to one of Franklin U’s most notorious party frats?

I’m a real student—the kind who actually came to college to learn, not some dumb frat bro who sees Franklin U as a four-year challenge to consume the most booze and throw out the best pick-up line.
Their all-hours lifestyle is driving me crazy. Not to mention, the jerks keep taking my assigned parking spot.

But the worst offender might be Cory Ingram. Sure, he has a smile that could melt a polar ice cap, but no way will I ever be one of his minions. I’m pretty sure I made that clear when I blew my top at him. So I have no idea why he’s suddenly everywhere around me, turning on the charm like I might actually fall for it.

Nope. Not gonna happen.

Cory
From the first day I set foot on Franklin U’s campus, everything has been golden. I have a ton of friends, endless parties to be the life of, and whoever I want in my bed on any given night. Sure, I’m a shameless party boy, but I’m not a jerk. Ask anyone. Seriously.

Even the crotchety old groundskeeper waves and smiles at me when I pass.

Then there’s Spencer Crow. I’ve never seen a guy’s face get so red over a parking spot. Even when I try to make it right, he proceeds to give me the tongue-lashing of a lifetime—which is about the moment I notice that, in addition to being irrationally irate, he’s also crazy hot.

My friends think I’ve finally met the one person I can’t seduce…

Bet You I can.

Sheena's Review:

4 stars, but 5 flames for the steam πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯

Bet You is an enemies-to-lovers story, it's part of the shared Franklin U universe and while Spencer was introduced in Mr Romance, this is a standalone story.

At the beginning I really didn't like Cory very much, I thought he was a selfish, inconsiderate jerk and I didn't change my mind until well on into the story. I thought he was just out for himself and didn't really care about Spencer. I did like Spencer though, I could empathise with him being so annoyed at the inconsiderate jerk parking in his spot, even once he knew it belonged to someone else.

Wasn't really a fan of Cory's tactic in getting Spencer to go out with him either, it was too much of a guilt trip for me. That said, I liked the slow burn of their relationship, and those window scenes, phew 😰. Clearly the author has either done a lot of research or is familiar with the con and cosplay scene as that was all done brilliantly well.

Cory did redeem himself brilliantly in the end though, I really came round to the idea of him and Spencer and loved the whole scene at the fundraiser. This was such a great read, I loved meeting Spencer and Cory, and seeing them come together.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

Bet You has got a slight enemies to lovers vibe, but that's quickly squashed by a relentless, yet charming Cory. Spencer can only hold out for so long against that mans charm. Then we get all the delicious steam Neve is known for and holy momma! πŸ₯΅πŸ”₯πŸ”₯.

This book was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it right until the end. It also had me watching a certain video mentioned on YouTube and I had no idea how much I needed that video in my life. Epic, just amazingly epic and I swear I've watched it 20 times already. I'm not mentioning which one because I don't want to spoil anything but once you read Bet You you'll understand. And why wouldn't you read it? Spencer and Cory are hot AF and you don't wanna miss out on all the laughs this book has in store for you.
