A sweet peek into August and Keegan's lives after they have settled back into civilization. With some angst, some love and some evolution to the relationship that is just as intense as it ever was.
Our Reviewer, SNik, continues a backlist read of Adrienne Wilder's work .with a look at 63 Days Later
From the blurb:
63 Days later takes place after the novel WILD. This can be read as a stand alone story.
However, it might be more enjoyable if you read WILD first.
Trigger Warning: Christmas music, trees, presents, and all around holiday cheer.
It’s been almost two years since Keegan and August escaped the Alaskan wilderness, and they finally get to celebrate their very first Christmas together.
But their plans of peace and quiet get turned upside down when Santa leaves more than just presents under the tree.
SNik's Review:
Novella, #1.5 in the Wild series.
63 days refers to the average gestation period of wolves, and August and Keegan are surprised when Daisy produces 8 puppies to join their family.
It’s been more than 18 months since August and Keegan have started to build a life together after their escape from Alaska and they are still navigating being back in civilization, especially Keegan who is struggling with being around crowds of people for the first time in more than 10 years.
This story is a glimpse into the growth of August and Keegan’s relationship, how Keegan still makes August his number one priority and how August is not willing to live without Keegan.
Wilder still writes August and Keegan’s interactions with feelings of desperation, lust, and caring, as well as showing the maturing of their relationship.
63 Days Later is a great epilogue and HEA for August and Keegan, I could easily read more about these men just to spend time in their intense and emotional relationship.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
