The Professor's Date The Script Club, Book 5 By: Lane Hayes, Narrated by Alexander Cendese

Lesetiger says "The series gets better with each book and I listened through The Professor's Date in one go because I was captivated by the story."

From the blurb:

The professor, the hair stylist, and a wedding date....

Tommy

Help! My sister is getting married, and according to her, I need a date. And a makeover. I’m a busy man, though. I don’t have time to meet eligible bachelors, and the tape holding my glasses together works just fine. Until my hair stylist steps on them.

Yes, Noah, my dazzling dreamboat of a hair guru created a mini disaster, but I don’t mind at all. He’s a sweet, funny, kind jock who—

Screech! No jocks. I have nothing in common with sporty people.

Except…Noah is different.

Noah

I don’t date. However, I’m not opposed to offering fashion advice to a sexy professor in need. A haircut, a quick shopping expedition....

Boom! Mission accomplished.

Not so fast. I’ve misjudged the situation and my attraction to the geek with the tragic sense of style. Sure, Thomas is too smart for me by a long shot, but there’s something about him that makes it easy to forget my past. It might be his quietly commanding nature or his movie-star good looks. Or maybe it’s just him.

All I know is that I’m very tempted to be the professor’s date.

The Professor's Date is an MM geek/jock romance featuring a nerdy professor, a soccer-playing hair stylist, and a quest for the perfect date!

Lesetiger's Review:

So I think the series is getting better with each book! I loved Tommy, but I loved Noah a little more. Tommy is an absentminded professor whose appearance is not important to him.

But for his sister's wedding, who is marrying a wealthy man, he has to dress up and bring a date. Noah is a stylist who gives Tommy a makeover and I liked him at first sight. Except that he has little self-confidence and thinks of himself as a bad date.

I thought Tommy and Noah were really cute together and I loved how their relationship evolved from friendship to more. As the book progresses, you learn more of Noah's story, which really touched me. No wonder he struggles with himself and the world.

I was captivated by the audiobook and that's why I listened through it in one go.

Alexander Candese has portrayed these two very contrasting men perfectly. You could feel the chemistry sparking between them, as together Tommy and Noah work quite well. He used a different voice for each character and brought the story to life. I liked his varied narration, which made the audiobook an entertaining pleasure to listen to.

For me, The Professor's Date was the best book in the series so far. Highly recommended!

Another exciting adventure from Lane Hayes with yet another professor and an amazing storyline with a remarkable performance by Alexander Cendese.

Noah’s backstory was definitely touching and eye opening of the possibility of every homosexual person. But, he grew from his past and became stronger because.

Thomas for the win with tens shy, nerdy persona! His character was brilliant and the epitome of a true science nerd. And when he finally snapped!! So proud of him!

Their chemistry was absolutely beautiful with a connection from the start. Noah and Thomas were just what the other never realized they needed, and fit perfectly together. Hope to read/listen to more about these two!

Janet's Review:

I seriously adored Tommy and Noah!!

Tommy needs a makeover before his sister gets married. Noah is a stylist, but he’s so much more that than. He was once a rising soccer star that was a victim of a hate crime that ended his future career. He gives Tommy a mini makeover. They begin as friend, but both feel that connection.

Once again, the author takes down another fantastic journey where two unlikely men find love. They are total opposites but work perfectly. I loved their instant and fantastic chemistry.

Alexander Cendese was a fantastic choice for a narrator! He made the story so much more exciting to listen to.

Overall, The Professor's Date is an excellent read that wouldn’t let me go. Highly recommend.

Alyssagp's Review:

This audiobook was an exciting addition to author Lane Hayes's Script Club series. I loved the plot and storyline of the book, and I enjoyed the narrator, Alexander Cendese, performance.

One of the main characters, Noah, has a heartfelt backstory with a perspective on almost every LGBTQ+ person in the community. Noah is stronger because of his past, which makes him an endearing character.

Thomas was so much fun! His character was clever and a true science nerd.

The chemistry between Noah and Thomas was palpable from the beginning. Noah and Thomas completed each other beautifully. I will read/listen to more books by Lane Hayes.
