Cold Blood (The Godbearer #2) by L.C. Davis

The highly anticipated sequel to Bad Blood is here, and our reviewers loved Cold Blood

From the blurb:

I'm pregnant.

Just when I was starting to get used to being alone in my own head, now I’m possessed in a whole new way. And apparently, I’m an omega, which seems to be code for “magical thot who gets harassed by every alpha within a hundred miles.”

The worst part is, I don’t even know which one of these bloodthirsty douchebags knocked me up. With my luck, it’s probably Cameron, who sees me and the baby as a threat to his precious goddess, especially now that she’s gone MIA.

Weirdly enough, the news has caused a split within the cult, pitting brother against brother. Even though I thought they’d all be on the same side, now Sam, Cyrus, and (ugh) Alex claim they’ll do whatever it takes to protect me and the baby. Even if it means going up against Ichor and the rest of her cult.

Obviously, I don’t trust them. I might be a “dumb blond,” but I don’t need to get sacrificed twice to learn that lesson.

If only my traitorous heart would get the memo.

Jacquie's Review:

I'd been waiting for this book to be released and bought it straight away. Like book 1, I pretty much read Cold Blood in one sitting. I really struggled to put it down. In fact, I made myself put the book down to get some other things done!

There are some big revelations in this one moving the story on fast. Due to spoilers I can't say much, but we learn more about Chase and a couple of the guys. The picture pieces are slotting into place.

Sam and Cyrus continue to be my favourites because they have shown real remorse for how they acted in the first book. I'm glad that Alex is still on the sh*t list because he was a crappy boyfriend. If I'm not mistaken though, there seems to be some character growth. As with book 1, I really appreciated the pov's of each of the characters to see their thoughts and feelings on what was going on. There are a few steamy scenes with these characters that were just sooo good!

I like this more guarded version of Chase, he's not about to make the same mistakes as before and be too trusting. He's no longer a dumb blond.

Already impatient for more.

Janet's Review:

Cold Blood is the second book in The Godbearer series and is a vampire harem romance.

This centers more on Chase. The story has a lot of heat and steam and spiciness. Theory starts where the last one ended. Cameron is mad, no more like livid that Chase is preggers.

Chase grows closer to Sam and Cyrus and is avoiding Alex and Cameron. We also get a surprise guest that will bring more questions than answers.

Overall, this was a fantastic second look into the series. Well developed character, well written with pacing that flowed!
