A Date to Impress Him is another peek into the fantastic world of Michele Notaro's The Magi Accounts from Cosmo's POV. Taking Mads out for a date shouldn't be that hard, but their family/pride comes first, so Cosmo has to work extra hard to get some romantic alone time with Mads.

Novella, #2.5 of series (The Magi Accounts), must be read in order. Quick read. Paranormal/urban fantasy with dystopian elements. Hurt/comfort. Found family.
Another peek into Cosmo and Madeo’s life told from Cosmo’s sweet, loving and committed POV. On one hand this was a sweet read, Cosmo wanting to take Mads on a date but family life constantly interrupting as Cosmo and Mads care for their younger pride members.
However, there is still the heavy weight of speciesism against shifters and magi, at work and out in public, and also with navigating having a mixed pride.
Cosmo’s POV is always full of strength, determination, responsibility, and love for all his pride members and for the man who is his mate.
I am super invested in this series and love all the characters, strong and damaged Mads, courageous Alpha Cosmo who is the floofiest floof that ever floofed, and all the separate members of the pride that embrace all of their family unequivocally. 4.5 rounded up.
