Heather read A Clean Slate by Harper Robson.

From the blurb:

Dealing with chronic illness since childhood is a drag. Being a Type 1 diabetic affects my relationships with everyone in my life. After getting dumped because of it, I've decided relationships aren't my thing; I refuse to be a burden to anyone. But when my best friend drags me on a weekend trip with his family, I meet his uncle. And now I'm wondering if he means it when he tells me I could never be a burden.

Being a single, gay man in New York city isn't a bad gig. But after ending my long-term relationship, I'm at a crossroads. I can continue on with life as I know it, or I can make a big change and start over somewhere new. I've spent my entire adult life resisting change, but when I travel across the country for my mother's memorial weekend, I meet someone who makes me think that jumping in with both feet might not be the worst decision. The problem is, he's my nephew's best friend, and he's half my age.

Heather's Review:

Clean Slate is a standalone novella that flows really well... two men whose world's intersect at a celebration of life and the connection is electric!  The one night stand extends through the entire weekend...

For a novella, this story has it all... the instant connection, the steam, the angst and the inevitable end... until the HEA of course...  The epilogue is an excellent cherry on the top of the story!
