Cian inclined his head slightly in permission.
I slid two fingers first along the wide panel of the closest wing, my touch feather light. The texture was indeed akin to crushed velvet, but warm and pliable. The bone was like leather-wrapped wood, textured and firm, but the narrow space of exposed wing just beneath it was the soft leather of a well-made glove.
Cian shuddered, uttering an involuntary groan. “Oh… That’s…”
I pulled my fingers away. “I’m sorry. Did I hurt you?”
“No. It’s just… They’re incredibly sensitive, and you have callouses.”
