Aaron's Awakening by KC Wells

I can't believe we're almost done with the Maine Men - book 6 of 7, Aaron's Awakening, came out today and features bi-awakening, friends to lovers and all the amazing side character goodness from the friends in Maine Men...

From the blurb:

Aaron isn’t looking for love, but it finds him – and it has a few surprises in store…

A laidback man who goes with the flow
Aaron is happy for his friends who’ve found love, but he’s starting to feel as if he’s an endangered species – a single guy. Not that he’s looking for anyone. But if someone were to turn up, he figures they would be female, younger than his twenty-seven years, and as disinterested as he was in searching for a soul mate.
He’s about to get it wrong on most counts.
Working in the Acadia National Park, he meets all kinds of people, like that painter he met the other day. A quiet guy, but he certainly made an impression. Because for some reason, Aaron can’t get him out of his mind.

A bruised soul seeking inspiration
Dean has picked up his paintbrush again. A famous artist who’s spent the last couple of years producing book illustrations under a different name, he’s come back to Maine seeking inspiration – and leaving the past behind him. The glorious natural beauty breathes new life into him, and it brings with it a new friend, a handsome ranger, the only person Dean has felt a connection to in a long time.
But when that connection unexpectedly becomes physical and Dean’s emotions get entangled, he fears history is about to repeat itself.
He’s not about to let his heart be broken a second time.

Jacqueleen's Review:

Aaron's Awakening was a Low angst, bi awakening that was actually sweet AF. Aaron, the confirmed bachelor, and Dean who has spent years nursing a broken heart were just so beautiful together. I loved how open Aaron was to discovering his bisexuality with Dean. He'd been around queer men all his life. It was nothing to freak out about in his eyes. Their love story flowed so easily. I honestly think this was the least dramatic of the whole series.

I loved seeing all the Maine Men again. They are a bunch of ball busters, but that's what makes them so great. Their bonds of friendship have lasted through so much and I love how they are always there for each other. Levi especially is always willing to lend an ear to a friend and I cannot wait to read his book. He's the last one last, apart from Noah who hasn't found his HEA. We've been teased in every book that Levi had his heart set on someone. Now that we know it's Noah, I'm looking forward to reading all about it even more!

Heather's Review:

Aaron's Awakening was a fabulous bi-awakening story from K.C.. Wells.  Like the previous Maine MenMaine Men stories, love sneaks up on Aaron when he's least looking for it.  I love that Aaron and Dean have an instant connection, but that the book slowly builds their friendship and their passion for each other.  I especially love Aaron's mom's take on everything...

To truly enjoy Aaron's Awakening and the ongoing friendship and love between everyone in the series, I don't recommend reading this book as standalone (plus KC Wells is a one-click author for me so I always encourage you to jump in and read everything) - but with this story especially, the series long tease between Noah and Levi ramps up, there's a ton more Granny and so much more that you'll love because you know everyone's stories...

Aaron's Awakening is sweet, funny, slow burn and delicious and I truly recommend checking out the entire Maine Men series!

Miki J's Review:

"Never too late to change lanes, right?"

Maine Men magic strikes again !!  Quite simply - beautiful !!  I love how all of the books are intertwined with each other and this one certainly did not disappoint.  It's Aaron's turn ..... and the story itself gave me good & happy vibes.  Low angst, bi/new awakenings and the usual nosy found family...but we know that about them anyway ...hehehehe  Dean is an open book - he's been hurt in the past and moves to Maine for a new beginning and gets that plus more !!  Though, I do wish he gave it to Ash a bit more for that stunt !!  Overall Aaron's Awakening is a thoroughly charming story.

Janet's Review:

Aaron's Awakening is the sixth story in the Maine Men series. This should be read in the series order as each book gives a glimpse of other couples in the series.

Aaron is the most laid back of all the Main Men and Dean is an artist trying to find his mojo again.

Aaron and Dean’s story featured bi-awakening and a love that was forged with a solid friendship first. T

hey have a great connection, and the story builds on that instant friendship. Loved, loved, loved Aaron and Dean!!

Overall, a great story that kept me engaged and glued to the pages! The story was well written with a group of fantastic secondary characters. Highly recommend!
