Green Eyed Boy (All American Boy) by BL Maxwell

Billie has quit his job and is traveling round on a mini food tour when he stops for a lobster roll. Lance is fairly new to the food truck Game and has been let down at the last minute by his nephew who was supposed to help him. When Billie offers to help him out he jumps at the chance - but is it more than the rolls Billie is looking for?

Green Eyed Boy is part of the multi-author All American Boy series.

From the blurb:

After quitting his job, Billie Watts hits all the food festivals he can as he drives across the country. When he finally reaches Stony Brook, Maine, he’s excited to find he’s there just in time to try one of the lobster rolls he’s heard so much about. The bright neon yellow food truck with a giant red lobster on top looks like the perfect place to try it.

Lance Karl is as ready as he can be for the start of the three-day Tall Ships Festival and hopes to sell enough lobster rolls out of his food truck to make a good start towards owning a restaurant. The day begins cold and misty, and a text from his nephew saying he can’t help him is not the perfect start he’d hoped for.

When a green-eyed stranger interrupts his frantic morning, Lance doesn’t realize meeting Billie will not only change his day, but maybe even the rest of his life. Two strangers, drawn together over their work ethic, and sealing the deal over delicious lobster rolls. They could just be the perfect match. A small-town MM Vacation romance.

Reds Book Reads Review:

Green Eyed Boy was a good book and a short read at only 135 pages. I enjoyed the book but there was a little too much focus on the food truck and how it was all ran for me and not enough focus on the relationship between Billie and Lance. The two men were super cute together and I would have loved more on how they got together and navigated their relationship and the decisions involved. On the whole though this was an enjoyable read and I will definitely look to read more books from this series.

Heather NotGuiltyofBooks Review:

For the record, food trucks are the way to my heart, and I’m pretty sure Lance and Billie would agree. This is a quick and easy read, as such things move a little quicker, but it’s a sweet and enjoyable story non the less. Billie is driving across the country in order to figure out his next steps in life, doing it one food festival at a time. When he stumbles upon Lance’s food truck, who makes incredible food but is in dire need of some help. Billie can’t help but stick around to help out. With a shared love of food and hard work, love blooms.

Heather's Review:

Short, sweet and low angst perfectly describe the novella, Green Eyed Boy by BL Maxwell.  One man, on a journey to find something, finds a man in need of his services and they quickly fall into a routine on the food truck and over the weekend are rarely apart!  It was a breath of fresh air to read and enjoy.

This is the perfect read for an afternoon or evening when you just want an escape and an enjoyable read.

Laora's Review:

Maybe fate did have a hand in us meeting. I wasn’t sure, but whatever put him in my path, or me in his, I was thankful for.' - Billie

Billie and Lance their story was so sweet and heartwarming. Man did it make me want to try those lobster dishes and that is saying something for a vegetarian. I loved that these driven and hardworking men found eachother and discovered they have even more in common. This is an insta attraction to love story that makes me happy. Bring on the lobster hat 😀.
