As Much as I Try by Erica Montrose

Reading debut novels is an interesting activity because you have absolutely no idea what you're going to get ...  As Much As I Try by Erica Montrose gives us Honey Bees, apples, angst and so much more...

From the blurb:

When the CEO meets the accountant, can they prove that while money doesn't grow on trees, love can bloom beneath them?

As CEO of Rustpin Games, Edwin has poured everything into his company, the only escape he has from his family's expectations. His blood, sweat, and tears may not be enough to save him from slipping backward into a life he doesn't want to lead. But what good is success if he has no one to share it with?

After a family tragedy leaves Liam alone and in debt, he swore he'd never be that vulnerable again. He plans, saves, and invests as much money as he can for a rainy day—literally. But financial stability can't fix the fear that's holding him back from living a full life.

A chance encounter at a bee-themed diner may be just the wake-up call Edwin and Liam need to realize that all the money in the world is meaningless without love.

NOTE:
This is a contemporary romance between two male lovers, complete with explicit love scenes.
If this isn't your cup of tea, feel free to skip this book in favor of something more to your tastes.

Heather's Review:

I really enjoyed reading As Much As I Try - from the meet cute at the Honey Bee Diner through ups and downs in their relationship... the universe keeps throwing Liam and Edwin together despite themselves and it makes for a really sweet romance..

I loved the unique touches and attention to detail that Erica Montrose included in the book and it was well paced, held my interest and kept me reaching for the next swipe...

As Much As I Try is a feel good read with just enough angst to make you want to shake the characters, but not so much that you know they can't handle it...  and just the right amount of steam.

Rating: 4.5 Stars
