Lucas by Jacki James

This is our first Dual Review!  If you stopped by earlier, you got Heather's perspective alone, but with the increase in our writing team, you will often find multiple opinions on reviews, so without further ado, I present our first review with two perspectives!

Heather says: So far, I am completely loving the Blue Collar Daddies series!  Ryder was amazing and now Lucas is getting his HEA!

From the author:

Lucas Vaughn is driven to make his business a success, but at what cost?

Lucas Vaughn loves his life. Vaughn’s Custom Cycles is doing better than he ever dreamed. He’s made a name for himself, and people come from miles around to have him build their dream motorcycles. He couldn’t ask for anything more. Sure it gets a little lonely, but he doesn’t have room in his life for a boy of his own. It’s easier to find someone to play with at a club than to risk disappointing someone because he can’t put them first.

Benjamin Harper has finished his degree and is settling into his new career. He finally has time to work on the old motorcycle his father left him when he died. The only problem is Benjamin doesn’t know a piston from a push rod. It doesn’t take him long to realize he needs some help. Only the best will do for his dad’s motorcycle, and the best is Lucas Vaughn.

Lucas doesn’t really have time to take on Benjamin’s project, but he liked the kid’s old man, and it’s obvious he doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. Besides, the project can’t take that much time.

Until fixing the bike turns into dinner, which turns into spending the night, which turns into so much more. Lucas didn’t think he had room for love, but Benjamin won’t settle for less than everything. Will Lucas find a way to balance building his business and being the Daddy Benjamin needs?

Heather's Review:

Jacki James always creates worlds that I want to hang out in - Owen's bar, Lucas' motorcycle shop, Ryder and Brennan's house - you just feel like you could walk in and know exactly where you are and she does the same thing with the characters.  You want to be friends with Daddies and boys alike.

Lucas and Ben's story is a very sweet, low angst coming together.  They both make fairly easy adjustments to their lives to make the daddy/boy relationship work.  Lucas is a caregiver daddy and Ben is a sweet, mostly put-together man who craves snuggles and some loving from said caregiver daddy.

If you are looking for a sweet, medium steam daddy romance that just feels like a warm hug from beginning to end, than Lucas may be just what you need!  I can't wait for Cooper's book which is available for preorder here and Travis and Max's story that will appear in the Dirty Daddies Anniversary Anthology that I've already pre-ordered here!

My rating - 5 Stars

Reds Book Reads Review:

This is the second book in the Blue Collar Daddies series but can be read as a stand-alone. It’s a sweet low angst story about custom motorcycle builder Lucas and architect Benjamin that I enjoyed. I loved how the relationship developed between the two and how they each helped the other grow and learn. It was also great to revisit characters from previous books although it doesn’t detract from the story if you haven’t read the previous books. Lucas and Ben are really cute together and I love how they look after each other through the book. All together this is a lovely feel-good book and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Reds Book Reads Bio:

"I absolutely love to read and spend most of my free time with my face in a book. My family always mock me as I tan quite easily but always have a white face as it’s been hidden from the sun by my book! I read a wide range of books over all different genres but MM romances will always have a place in my heart. The reader community is so accepting and open and I have learnt a lot about myself with the support of the amazing community that has been built.

So, if you want to know a bit more about me, I work full time and live in the UK with my husband and have a wonderful stepson. I feel I was probably a cat in a previous life as I like nothing better than to curl up in the sunshine. Unfortunately, living in the UK means I don’t get that opportunity all that often! I always swore I would never get a kindle as “you can’t feel or smell the books” but now you won’t find me without either my kindle or the kindle app on my phone as I love how quickly and easy I can get to a book!
