A Changelings Guide to Love and Prophecy is a Fallen for a Fae Novel of changeling being found in the human realm finding his partner to strive.
From the blurb:
"Everything you believe about yourself is a lie."
Judah knows what he is. Worthless trash and a burden on the only person who loves him. Growing up in the foster system as the gay kid with chronic migraines was hard enough. Surviving now that he's aged out is no easier. At twenty-three, he's already given up. Every day is the same haze of pain, self-blame, and isolation.
Matheu knows what Judah is, too. A changeling, and the potential soulbond of one of the most powerful unseelie in Faerie. All he has to do is convince the shy, soul-sick, and heartstoppingly beautiful man to trust him. His career as a bond matchmaker is on the line. And, as he gets to know Judah better, his heart. Sure, it's not professional to kiss your newest client, but who could resist those gold-dusted lips?
Faerie is a wonder Judah would never have dared to dream, but every dream is a potential nightmare. On Earth, he's sick. In Faerie, he's dangerously powerful and the bearer of a dark prophecy. If he stays, he risks ruining the very world he's learning to love. But with Matheu teaching him as much about desire as magic, it might just be worth the risk.
A Changeling's Guide to Love & Prophecy is a first-time romance HEA tale with no cliffhangers. It features a mostly gentle giant of a mountain fae and a watchful, sweet cinnamon roll of a changeling with a dangerous prophecy over his head. There's dry humor and sweet consideration in spades, a hefty dose of self-discovery and growth, and a sprinkling of spice for that extra dash of flavor. This is a standalone novel in the Fallen for a Fae series that takes place between book 1 and 2. Each book follows a different couple (though we do love cameos).
Molly's review:
Overall, an entertaining read that kept me interested from the beginning. Judah a changeling raised in Detroit was not made to be comfortable in the iron city. When Matheau and Dwyst offer him a chance at something more in life he cannot help but be scared and intrigued to take this chance of finding a place where he belongs. When taken to Faery his world is open to all the new possibilities including a non-love bond, but a bond in partnership to lead a House of Faerie. As Matheau & Judahs bond deepens you can feel the insecurity of Judah as well as his hope that this time the good in his life will remain and this time no one will give up on him. Matheau steadfastness in his determination was a large factor in Judah becoming more secure.

I really did enjoy the dynamics of these characters in their understanding as a group and not all bonds need to forge in love but in respect more so than anything else. What kept me from loving this story as much as I could have parts of the story felt disjointed at times, taking you away from the story and trying to understand what was going on. Asides from that it was worth a read and hope the author does have more from this universe, in particular these characters. It would be beautiful to see Judah come more into his own and be as powerful as he was always meant to be.
Angel's review:
Matheu, Judah, Metara, and Dwyst are a great collection of characters, their relationships are unconventional yet beautiful in their own ways. As soon as I started reading Judah's POV I just wanted to wrap him up in a big hug, and ask him to teach me how to get birds to like me, like how they like him.
Seeing Judah's character grow, and learn more about himself, his powers, about Faerie and his duties, along with figuring out his feelings for Matheu was just really special to read about. This isn't your conventional romance book, there are more nuances to it than just that, there's mystery, self discovery, rude and vengeful antagonists, a descriptive and vivid world full of life, and most importantly love, and not just romantic love but platonic love as well.
Matheu absolutely had my heart as soon as he showed so much gentleness and kindness towards Judah, and I also adored how fiercely he cared about those around him. Him and Dwyst are called an unconventional pair, but in my mind I think they are just right for each other. Same with Matheu being with Judah and eventually Dwyst with a certain leader.. They all work well together in different ways and they form their own unique family unit that's dynamic and full of love, humor, support, and so much more!
I love that even though these characters are mystical and magical beings they are still so realistic and relatable. I'm sure most of us at some point in our lives can relate to some of what these characters' have been through/experienced, I know I can to some degree, And I think that's one of the really beautiful things about reading. All in all, I quite enjoyed reading about all of these characters and I found the story to be unique! I'm excited to read more books in this universe!
