Tis the Season for Tentacles (Tinsel and Tentacles 2.0) by Chloe Archer

Tis the Season for Tentacles takes place a few years after Chloe Archer's first Tinsel and Tentacles release and features a tentacled Alien Warrior Najar and the ship's newest earthling abductee, ahem guest as they explore the galaxy for the Holidays!

From the blurb:

Felix

Combing the desert for aliens might sound a little out there, but I don’t care. They’re among us and I’m going to prove it.

Yet even I didn’t expect to get sucked up by a tractor beam and whisked off to outer space!

Also, why the heck does the interior of this ship look like a Christmas store exploded inside it? And, swoon, why does the big golden alien scowling at me have so many… tentacles?

Najar

For a second time, we’ve been forced to bring a human aboard our ship. And once again, it’s due to my crew mates’ foolishness. Sigh.

Christmas is in the air–Galactic gods, save me—and we’re exploring planets with similarly unusual holidays. So, Felix is stuck with us for a while.

But why can’t I leave the inquisitive human alone? He’s too tempting for his own good.

Our time together is limited, so hoping for something serious is ridiculous… right?

Chloe-isms: an alien abduction meet cute that's wholesome and sweet rather than creepy, I swear!; tentacles all the way, cuz heck yeah!; Christmas adventures in outer space--what could possibly go wrong?; how did Lord Vardox and Captain Starblade get into this story?; cozy but horny Hallmark vibes for days; innocent nerds are what do it for Najar; Felix has way too many fantasies about tentacles, but it's all because of that online story...

Tis the Season for Tentacles is part of the multi-author winter holiday M/M tentacle romance collaboration, Tinsel and Tentacles 2.0. All books are standalones but may be connected to some authors’ pre-existing worlds. Each book in the series brings festive fun related to a variety of winter holidays and explores the many delightful ways tentacles can be naughty and nice!

Rogue's review:

- series
- Sci-fi
- aliens
- Christmas

This is best enjoyed after reading All I Want for Christmas is Tentacles as it's got the same cast of characters and is set on the same ship. While last year's story was Khephren and Sasha, this year it's Najar's turn. I will confess to being so curious about how Chloe was going to write in the group inviting another human aboard after last time, but it was done brilliantly. Felix is very different to Sasha, but with the same - shall we say - curiosity? about aliens and tentacles and one story in particular (Vardox and Starblade from Tentacular Tales πŸ˜‰).

I loved being back on the Sleigh Belle, and this story is full of fun, christmas cheer, and warmth. Once Najar and Felix get over their initial feelings about each other, their relationship moves along nicely and there's so little angst, it's lovely. It's utterly hilarious in parts too which I won't spoil πŸ˜‚. I never thought I'd look forward each year to a Christmas Tentacle book, but here we are and it's wonderful. Another great Christmas story with added tentacles. Can't wait for Luna now.

"π™Έπš'𝚜 πš•πš’πš”πšŽ πšœπš˜πš–πšŽ πš”πš’πš—πš 𝚘𝚏 πšŠπš•πš’πšŽπš— 𝚜𝚎𝚑 πšπšžπš—πšπšŽπš˜πš— πš–πšŽπšŽπšπšœ πš™πš˜πš›πš— 𝚜𝚎𝚝."

It was so much fun being on board the sleigh bell again!! And perfect timing too, as I had just finished listening to the audio version of book 1 which was recently released. It's always a good time venturing into Chloe Archer's alien universe and Tis the Season for Tentacles was no different. I loved seeing all the crew members of the ship again, especially Sacha and Keph who are still going strong. And still causing mischief because those two are exactly the reason why Najar finds himself with another abducted earthling aboard the ship he is meant to protect. Luckily, Felix seems more thrilled than upset about the prospect of spending his holidays with tentacled aliens.

Felix was super cute. Though he and Najar feel an immediate attraction when they meet, neither of them does anything about it at first. They also don't exactly start off on the right foot with one another friendship wise. And if that isn't enough, Najar is dealing with the same worries that Keph did in book 1. Felix has been abducted and forced to rely on their crew. There is a definite power imbalance, which Najar is well aware of, and his morals won't let him disrespect that.

Fear not my fellow readers, because along the crews' space adventures during the weeks of Felix's stay, we get a front row seat to Najar and Felix first falling into bed together and then falling into love. It was cute at times and hilarious at others. Their stay at a hotel during a planetary blizzard had me cracking up laughing so hard!! Honestly, it was wild and led to a need for Najar to brandish his weapon! But that's all I am going to say on it because you really need to enjoy this humorous scene unspoiled.

The ending was very enjoyable and made me smile. The original crew of the Sleigh Bell were wonderful aliens, but I think the addition of the humans have made them all that much happier. I expect they all have many more space explorations and joy to be spread in their futures!

Molly Otto's review:

Chloe does it again if this is uniquely her Christmas story. This time, it's our grumpy Najars turn to find his match in a human they commandeer from Earth. Felix is a bright soul who just brings levity upon the crew on the life he has lived and his love of tentacle fiction. When in Nevada trying to spot aliens, Je does just that and gets a ride of the Sleigh Belle. Najar, being Najar, puts his foot in his mouth and needs to make up to bring Felix back in his good graces. These two are fire when they begin their fwb relationship after Chloes' unique take on the only one bed trope. With the right balance of seriousness and chaos that very few authors are able to pull off, you can't help but be drawn in from page one. Crossing fingers for future cameos from the A.N.A.L. crew, cause yeah that will be something brillant in on its own. Felix is the perfect addition to the Sleigh Belle crew, along with another addition that all i can add can not wait to read their story.
