Textual Confusion by Fifer Rose

Fifer Rose is back my friends, with a steamy, mistaken identity romance about a billionaire and his soon to be sugar baby!

From the Textual Confusion blurb:

I need you tomorrow.
Same time and place as last week.

Who dis?

Did I f*ck you stupid last time? You know.

Between barely scraping by financially and dealing with a stalker ex-boyfriend, Asher’s life was already problematic enough before randomly receiving a string of texts from an unknown number in the middle of the night.

He should have just done what a normal person would do and ignore them.

But since when had Asher ever been normal? Besides, based on the not-quite-nudes the guy sent, he was clearly hot. Against his better judgment, Asher responds – which doesn’t take long to devolve into depraved sexting.

He wasn’t expecting the man to Venmo him an eye-popping amount of cash for his trouble. (Not that he ever got the money. The guy didn’t know who he was – or that he was even another man, for that matter.)

That should have been the end of it. Except they keep texting. And, like the utter moron he is, it doesn’t take long for Asher to catch feelings.

Honestly, he ought to know better than to fall for rich assholes by now.

(Otherwise known as how Asher Kodet, twenty-three-year-old baker extraordinaire, becomes the accidental sugar baby of Markus Kingston, richest, meanest – but actually the frickin’ sweetest – billionaire CEO in all of Seattle.)

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's review:

"ʏᴏᴜ ᴛᴀꜱᴛᴇ ꜱᴏ ꜱᴡᴇᴇᴛ, ʟɪᴋᴇ ꜰᴜᴄᴋɪɴɢ ᴄᴀɴᴅʏ. ɪ ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴇᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴏᴜᴛ ᴀʟʟ ᴅᴀʏ. ʏᴏᴜ'ᴅ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ, ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ'ᴛ ʏᴏᴜ? ᴍʏ ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴘɪʟʟᴏᴡ ᴘʀɪɴᴄᴇꜱꜱ, ʟʏɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ, ᴄʜᴇᴇᴋꜱ ꜱᴘʀᴇᴀᴅ, ʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴅᴇᴠᴏᴜʀᴇᴅ ᴀɴʏ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ɪ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ."

Whoa Nelly! Fifer Rose is back from hiatus folks and boy does she have a steamy one for us!! I loved the entire concept of this book. How it all started with a text sent mistakenly to the wrong person and spiraled from there. And I mean spiraled. Poor Asher didn't know what to think. He only knew that "mystery man" was one of the hottest guys he'd ever exchanged words with in his life. Now he just had to figure out how to tell him who he was, since he was definitely not the female escort that his texter was expecting.

"ᴛʜᴇ ᴏɴʟʏ ᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ɪꜱ ᴛᴏ ʟɪꜱᴛᴇɴ ᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴀᴅᴅʏ."

As it turns out, mystery man is none other than billionaire CEO Markus Kingston. I loved how the domineering man totally went with the flow on this one when that is absolutely not like him. So Asher isn't the professional escort he was expecting? That's okay, because Daddy likes him just the way he is. And Asher likes being his baby boy just as much. It was cute how much Asher fought against the whole sugar baby aspect of their budding relationship. All Markus wanted to do was spoil him and Asher fought him constantly on it. To be fair, he didn't put up too hard a fight. It's hard to say no to a man like Markus Kingston.

It's one of my favorite things when a grumpy MC is only soft for his lover. It's almost like he had two personalities. One is the cold, harsh businessman and the other is the caring and doting partner. Every time Markus' face would change from his signature scowl into a soft adoring look once he saw Asher it warmed my heart. I seriously loved these too together and I hope we don't have to wait too long to see more books from Fifer Rose in the future!

SNik's review:

Standalone. Mistaken Identity. Age gap. Light BDSM. Single POV.

When Asher is mistaken for an escort via text to his new phone number, the hot pic he receives causes him to play along until he realizes he cannot keep up the ruse for long. An accidental meeting in the flesh has Markus quickly staking a claim, and Asher finds himself being the sugar baby in order to own the bakery of his dreams, and get the hot Daddy he never knew he wanted.

This story has off the charts high heat interactions and dirty talk from a possessive Daddy and a baker that leads with his heart hoping with every week that goes by that maybe it's more than contractual between them. I really appreciated Asher’s super supportive friends and enjoyed the funny and realistic dialog between them. It was swoony that Markus continuously praised and appreciated Asher, they both made a few stumbles along the way but really tried to have an honest relationship and nothing came between their feelings for each other. The outside drama that affects the relationship may not work for some readers, but overall it didn’t matter to me as I really enjoyed every interaction and on-page scene between Asher and Markus.
