Our second #SpotlightSaturday this week is The Silver Dragon by Ellis Colton. This is a standalone, second chance romance set in the world of martial arts. I love a good second chance romance, this is available now once you've enjoyed this teaser excerpt.
From the blurb:
In junior high, Teo Marquez attended an after-school karate program with his best friend in San Bonita, Texas. He enjoyed it so much that he signed up for more classes at the Silver Dragon, the local dojo. While Teo loved his karate classes, he became silently smitten with a teenage assistant there, the gorgeous Mr. Eklund. But before Teo ever got up the nerve to actually speak to his crush, his family moved away and Teo's crush was dashed.
Six years later, Teo returned to San Bonita as a transfer college student and rekindled some old friendships. He's thrilled to learn that his old crush, Lucas Eklund, is now the sensei at the Silver Dragon! Teo signs right up.
Adult Lucas is even more handsome than Teo dreamed of, and he returns Teo's interest. But Lucas is deep in the closet with no plans to come out. Teo thinks he can handle it, but Lucas' personal dragons might be stronger than Teo anticipated.
Excerpt:
That seems so long ago. And now here he is turning up at my dojo. Who’da thought?
Lucas couldn’t deny that his pulse had quickened when he saw Teo even before he realized who Teo was. He’d thought it was just because Teo was a hot, good-looking guy, but now he wondered if his subconscious had recognized Teo right away.
“He sure grew up handsome, didn’t he?” Lucas mused aloud to himself. “And that hair . . . damn.” Just as thick and curly as he remembered. He’d immediately thought about what it would feel like to run his hand through those curls.
Lucas turned away from the window and went behind the counter. He gave himself a talking to while he booted up the computer. Okay, cool your jets here. Who knows what kind of guy he is? You don’t even know if he’s gay. Besides, he’s going to be a student!
“Yeah, yeah. I got it.” Lucas sighed.
But . . . what if he is? And what if the reason he always stared at me so intently was because he felt drawn to me too? Maybe be was curious too.
Lucas gave himself a shake. “Focus. We got things to do. Work now, daydream later.”
Wow . . .
The Silver Dragon is currently available as an e-book.
