Farren (Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate) by Morgan Lysand

We have reached the end to Black Cat Circus season 2 that pulls it all together! Farren is a low angst high heat fated mates mermaid/gargoyle pairing!

From the blurb:

Farren has been Black Cat Circus’s head of security since the beginning and it’s a job the gargoyle takes seriously. But he’s stone more often than usual in the daytime, impeding his ability to work. Something has to change, and he’s not sure what. Not until a feisty merman shows up at the circus and Farren’s stone curse has a hope of being lifted.

Rourke has one last adventure before he ties himself to the lake as the next historian apprentice. Only, he’d rather be an ambassador between the worlds than stuck in the muck reciting the same old information for a lifetime. When he meets a sexy gargoyle, Fate steps in to change both of their lives.

Can a gargoyle and merman get a fairy tale ending, or will a curse keep them apart?

Farren is a fated mates, gargoyle/merman, MM paranormal romance. The Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate is a multi-author series and season two of the Black Cat Circus World that features found family and a magical cast of characters. Each book can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed as a series.

Molly Otto's review:

What a perfect conclusion to the second season of Black Cat Circus! The Pearl of Fate had made an appearance in each story and was happy to see it's a huge factor in this final installment!

It's our favorite security guard's time to find his match and whom better than a mermaid! Farren has been protecting BCC since its inception, but now Farren has grown to believe that is all he is good for. Rourke has felt the pressure of his community to serve yet has the free spirit to want to see th world. With fates intervention, it looks like he has a chance for just that! When these two embark on their adventure, they learn to have self-love and worth to be the best version of themselves. The heated scenes are pure fire and just the right amount of them to keep the story going and their connection to grown all around.

I'm happy to see this season was as beautiful as the debut and crossing my fingers that the BCC will return to us for a third season. Just that right blend of low angst and right amount of heat to capture you from start to finish.

Angel's review:

I've been waiting for Farren to get his own story since he was first introduced in the first season of BCC. I'm so happy he got his own story and found his fated mate.

I thought this book was great! I adored Farren's character, he's the protector of the circus and of his family and he takes that seriously. He doesn't take time for himself or sees himself in a positive light, until he meets Rourke, and his stargazer changes everything.

I LOVED how we saw couples from both seasons make appearances in this story, I found that the couples in this season recalling what the pearl was like when they found it to be really cool and interesting! The concept of the pearl in general was fascinating, a shell who's purpose is to help others find love? How sweet is that! I liked how with each detail Rourke got told, he learned that the shell was growing with each happy couple finding love.

Farren and Rourke are such a lovely couple together, they both help each other when they are feeling low and need some confidence and reassurance. I also enjoyed how they took their relationship slow, and got to know each other over time, instead of rushing things. All of the new characters that were introduced in this book I thought were great, Rourke 's friends are wild and added a bit of silliness to the story. I felt as though the ending was a bit rushed, but other than that, this was a spectacularly magical way to end Season two of this beautiful circus!! I hope that The Black Cat Circus will be back for Season 3!
