We are back to the Accidental Love series with best yet addition where the ever chaotic Rush finds his person to balance him. In The Revenge Agenda, what starts as an awkward meeting turns into something more when these two get to see the real person.
Rush
When I show up to surprise my boyfriend in a barely-there festive outfit, I’m expecting him to be alone.
Not hosting family.
His fiancé’s family.
Down one boyfriend and up a lot of embarrassment, I flee with my tail between my legs. The broken heart will fade. My humiliation, not so much, but my saving grace is the fact that I never have to see either of them ever, ever again.
Until I walk into work and come face to face with my new boss.
Hunter
I never, in a million years, would have guessed the man hiding under his desk at work would be the one person I hoped to never see again.
My ex-fiancé’s side piece.
Apparently I can’t fire the guy because of personal issues, so I try to play nice, which is a whole lot harder to do when I find out my ex is still texting Rush. The same ex I haven’t heard from since I walked out on his begging.
Rush tells me he didn’t know about me. He tells me there were others. He also tells me our ex still wants him and so, we come up with a plan. To show him what it feels like when you want someone who doesn’t want you back.
All we need is a camera. His number. And one shared kiss.
Revenge has never been sweeter.
It's by far my favorite addition to the accidental love series. These two may have met under unique circumstances, yet they just click and accept the other as they are. Saxon does a beautiful job in showing us the brain of Rush and how he handles his ADHD and how sometimes those methods don't work, and sometimes they just do. It was one of the more accurate accounts I've read in an awhile. Also highly appreciated that she showed not only the squirrel brain side of it, as well the hyperfocus side, because yeah been there done that.
These two just work so well together and happy to see more interactions with the rest of the Big Bertha family that we've come to know and love for all their fun querks. Great low angst read to just sit back and enjoy.
"ᴡʜᴇɴ ᴡᴇ ꜰᴜᴄᴋ, ʀᴜꜱʜ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴏɴʟʏ ɴᴀᴍᴇ ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ʀᴇᴍᴇᴍʙᴇʀ ɪꜱ ᴍɪɴᴇ. ʙᴇᴄᴀᴜꜱᴇ ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ʙᴇ ꜱᴄʀᴇᴀᴍɪɴɢ ɪᴛ."
Hoo Boy talk about a meet cute, which is most definitely not so cute. Imagine finding out your fiancé is cheating on you in front of your entire immediate family. Not only that, but you find out because his side man shows up ready to jingle some bells in a very revealing holiday outfit. Holy mortification batman. I felt such secondhand embarrassment for Rush. Honestly, I don't think I would have ever been able to face Hunter again.
Unfortunately for Rush, avoiding Hunter is not an option as he has just been hired on as his new boss. Lucky him right? Thank goodness Rush is such a lovely soul because after their second awkward AF meeting Rush takes it upon himself to befriend Hunter. As you can probably guess, Hunter is not exactly receptive to this. But Rush being Rush, he is very persistent when he's made up his mind about something. I totally understood this as a parent to kids with ADHD, one of which has issues with hyper focusing. I think the portrayal of Rush's ADHD was done well and I can only hope my kid has a big boss as understanding as Tim (Hunter's boss above him) in the future.
I loved Hunter getting to meet all the guys of the Bertha house. Seeing his reluctant friendship with Rush start to grow into a real one, and then into feelings from there was sweet. Hunter was amazing in regard to Rush's neurodivergent side. He didn't want to force Rush to change, more like help him to understand so he could be supportive. Speaking of being supportive, I adored the friendship between Rush and Madden. That shopaholic nudist has such a big heart and he's been one of my favorites since we met the boys back in book 1. I'm ecstatic his book is next and includes one of my favorite tropes: a good ol Bi-awakening!!
Many people learn about what life is like for neurodiverse people through reading books, so I’m tremendously appreciative and find it extremely significant these representations are as realistic as possible and depict the challenges neurodiverse people face.
Rush and Hunter were great characters and theirs was a story I really enjoyed. This author’s intelligent and skilful writing make hard not to.
Your attention is captured from the very first chapter and the story that unfolds makes you want to know more as you go on.
Perfect steam levels for Rush and Hunter made them even more hot and sexy.
There has been a disappointing lack of neurodiverse protagonists in books but it’s wonderful to see that this is changing with more and more neurodiverse characters being represented in literature.
A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Heather's Review:
I've been waiting for Rush's story and Saxon James does not disappoint! From the intense first meeting to their new boss/employee roles, to dealing with Hunter's ex, this story has so many twists and turns and I was there for all of them!
I love how they go from wary to more and how Rush's ADHD is accepted at work and how both Rush and Hunter grow as individuals and a couple! I've always adored how supportive the roommate situation is in the Accidental Love house and having Rush find his forever person truly makes my heart happy.
I can't wait to see what's next for this friend group!
