Nightmare for Hire (Monster Match) by Morgan Lysand

Welcome back to the Monster Match dating app series for another epic pairing! In Nightmare for Hire, we have a slow burn don't judge a book by its cover, sunshine for hire pairing.

From the blurb:

Nox is a Nightmare, literally. Having been around for eons, he’s decided it’s time to have some fun… wrecking lives, that is. So he hires himself out to get revenge on bad exes, which leads him to joining the Monster Match app. He doesn’t exactly care what the circumstances are as long as he gets to have some fun scaring humans.

Cyrus moved to Rivenfield for a fresh start after a bad breakup. He just wants to keep his head down and work. Maybe meet a few monster cuties on Monster Match. He’s not expecting to click with someone so soon, but the mysterious Nightmare has him all hot and bothered awake and asleep.

After meeting Cyrus, Nox is flabbergasted why anyone would want to send a Nightmare after such a delightful human. He becomes determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. It looks like the cure for his eternal boredom might just be falling in love.

Nightmare for Hire is an opposites attract MM monster romance featuring a sunshiny Nightmare and a human just wanting to belong. It’s part of the Monster Match series. Each book is a standalone, but why don’t you have fun with all our monstrous beasties?

Molly Otto's Review:

Okay, so I need to keep Nox forever and ever!

This little nightmare is the epitome of sunshine and rainbows who may protect his friends and the deserving people of their little town with a terrifying vengeance. He has an innocence that you just want to bottle up and cherish, then you have Cyrus, who has been through so much and deserves this little ball of sunshine to chase all the nightmares away. These two are that cuddly couple that you want to just aww or gag, whichever mood you may be in.

What a beautiful blend of romance, comedy, and only a vengeance a nightmare can bestow. This was my third read in this series, and it definitely will not be my last. What a fun and unique series.

Angel's Review:

I first got introduced to Nox's character in Kota Quinn's book, and I was very intrigued by his character in that story. I'm so glad that we got his book, and that I/we could get to know the nightmare better!

I think both Morgan and Kota do a wonderful job staying true to their own characters, and each other's. I found the story to flow really well, I thought the characters were truly great! I love Nox and Cy! And I adore the relationship Cy has with Devon, along with the bond Nox has with Dani. It's so sweet to read about how strong their bonds are with each other.

Learning about Cy's past was so heartbreaking he went through so much throughout his life. The way Maddox was so supportive when Cy told him about his past, was so endearing! I loved the bond and relationship that occured between Nox and Cy!! It had a bit of a slow burn feel with so much happy fluff! I adored how they took things slow, and communicated with one another!

I do think that there was a lot of buildup surrounding what Mick's character was up to, and I feel as though it was glossed over when it actually got to the point where his character acted out further. Other than that though I really enjoyed this story and these amazing characters!
Nox is so cute!!!

Miki J's Review:

Nox, that adorable twinky nightmare, is back with his own book (met him in His Primal Kiss - which is also brilliant !!!).....and I want to say "what fun it is" this book, because it is....but there's some serious and dark themes in this book, and that brings another aspect to the storytelling. So, please read the TW's !!! I did find that this book focused more on the healing aspect and finding friends / found family - which was sweet....... and then there is the learning aspect (go blowies !!! bahahhaha) that was also adorable. So kudos to the author for giving us sweet, adorable and loving story that also had darker themes without it being seriously dark. Very deftly done !!!
