The Curious Mountain Man (Movin' to the Mountains) by Casey Cox

Back on the mountain we go with THE CURIOUS MOUNTAIN MAN in this sweet tale of showing two men accepting and building one another up. This is book 2 of the Movin' to the Mountain trilogy of three amazing novellas with so much heart and soul it's truly hard to believe they are not long reads!

From the blurb:

I'm a nerdy, neurodivergent librarian who lives a quiet life in the mountains. While out birdwatching one day, I stumble upon a giant of a mountain man bathing in the lake.

Naked.

I manage to run away, hoping he didn't see me.

And then he shows up at my library.

Something about him lures me in. Sure, he's tall, bearded, and insanely gorgeous, but there's a gentle curiosity in his eyes. And when he looks at me, it's like he's trying to understand me…

Orrrr maybe I'm imagining it.

Yeah, that's probably it. I mean, why would a handsome, barrel-chested lumberjack like Branum be interested in a Mr. Plain and Boring like me?

Molly Otto's Review:

OK, let's start this off by saying I'm super picky about both neurospicy and OCD representation cause, let's be honest, not enough authors do enough research to capture this without coming off as judgmental or condescending. Guess what Casey does achieve this, and does it beautifully add to it in a frigging novella! I don't understand how they can create such well-balanced stories in such short stories, truly spectacular.

Branum and PJ just balance each other out. They build each other up and balance the other. They show what a caring and supportive relationship should be while helping the other grow to be a stronger person.

The Curious Mountain Man is book 2 of the Movin' to the Mountains series of a trio of brothers finding their happily ever afters. You do not need to read the previous book, but I also highly recommend that book as well.

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Movin’ to the Mountains). Quick read. Dual POV.

Attempting to find a mountain bluebird sighting, PJ didn't mean to stumble upon the bathing, glorious naked mountain man instead, and he certainly didn’t expect the man to track him down. Branum is intrigued by the new red-headed librarian, so he spends his personal study time at the library watching PJ and hoping for a chance to ask him out.

A slow buildup to a first date, and the mutual attraction is hard to deny, it is a quick ramp up to love. Both Branum and PJ have something personal that they struggle to share, but there is no doubt that they support and accept each other without any judgment.

A sweet story for two men that find their special person can turn into forever with no hesitation.

Heather's Review:

I am loving this series and the way Casey Cox allows his mountain men to be vulerable... Branum is just such a sweetie - strong and bold, but hiding a secret that makes him feel less than - and the fact that he sees PJ for the qualities he feels he lacks - chef's kiss...

I love that this romance plays out in the library and hiking and birdwatching - two completely different environments, but yet personal to both men... it makes for a touching story about finding the right special person - the one who embraces all of you...

I can't wait to see what happens in the third and final book!
