Best Served Cold (Crimson Club Book 3) by Willow Dixon - Review, Release Blitz and Giveaway

The Crimson Club crew is back with BEST SERVED COLD, where we see Noah & Zane drop their shields and get real. No lies this book adds on the angst, but it's handled realistically and to me, that's what matters with this sort of representation.

From the blurb:

When the guys at work dare me and the new guy to play a game of gay chicken, I figure I’ll get my first kiss and bragging rights for winning. What I don’t expect is for that game to awaken something in me. Something I’ve never felt before.

Something that makes me want more. Makes me want him.

I never back down from a challenge, but that doesn’t explain why being with Noah feels so good. Why I can’t stop thinking about him. Why he’s the only person who’s ever stirred even the slightest interest in me.

Why getting him off gets me off.

Watching Noah lose control is everything. So is knowing he can’t stay away from me, either.

Zane and Noah’s story is an animosity to lovers, double bi-awakening romance. You can expect public fun, tons of heat, lots of banter, and reluctant feels as these two impulsive and competitive guys realize that in some games, everyone’s a winner. It is the third book in the exciting new Crimson Club series but can be read as a standalone.

Molly Otto's Review:

As with previous books of the Crimson Club series, the banter helps balance the angst from the rest of the book. I found this book to be more angsty than previous books because it did deal with more real-life topics. I will admit the back and forth of Noah & Zane trying to figure stuff out would normally annoy me, but in the case of this particular book, it was understandable.

The support of their friends and Zane's twin River shows that with support, you are able to succeed and find much needed peace.

Thank you, Willow, for the representation of both asexuality and depression. It was obvious you did the research to make this story real.

Great read overall. Best Served Cold is the best of this series so far

Heather's Review:

Double bi-awakening, rivals, ARO/Demi representation, angst and humour are all packed into this book... Two men who have a lot to figure out about themselves and relationships keep going back to their game of 'gay chicken' to explain away their growing feelings...

I did enjoy the banter and the angst, the back and forth nature of the story and the friend group that helped act as sounding boards... but there was a lot of real depression and anxiety at the root of this story and it grounded me as a reader...

This book was grittier than the previous Crimson Club books, but that made for a truly satisfying HEA.

About the Author

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.
